  • Patent number: 8341664
Abstract: A method and system for providing selective advertising on a television channel is accomplished by downloading appropriate advertisements from an advertising server to a subscriber's set top box over an out-of-band channel. The set top box monitors for events. When an event occurs, the set top box signals the head-end to download ads to the set top box. The ads may be selected using demographic or common channel preference pattern information associated with the set top box.

  • Patent number: 7856644
Abstract: A method and system for providing selective advertising on a television channel is accomplished by downloading appropriate advertisements from an advertising server to a subscriber's set top box over an out-of-band channel. The set top box monitors for download triggers to provide advertisements to the subscriber's set top box and advertising triggers to insert advertisements when an advertising opportunity occurs. • Patent number: 5161776
Abstract: A fast-acting solenoid actuated valve assembly is disclosed which utilizes a pressure biased primary valve member and a secondary solenoid actuated valve member. The solenoid is operative to initially partially open the secondary valve member to thereby vent the primary valve pressure biasing to thereby enable opening of the primary valve. The secondary valve member is moved to a fully open position by the force generated by the initial venting of the biasing pressure. The speed of operation of the present valve assembly renders it particularly well suited for use in motor vehicle air bag assemblies. Actuating circuits are also disclosed for actuating the valve assembly.

  • Patent number: 5125608
Abstract: Provided is a support assembly for mounting an array of photovoltaic panels to a support surface such as the ground. According to the invention, there is provided a plurality of front and rear support posts, each post having an anchor portion to be driven into the support surface and a leg portion which is nested therein and longitudinally adjustable to raise or lower corresponding front and rear horizontal supports. Photovoltaic panels are mounted lengthwise across the horizontal supports in a predetermined position to minimize the stress thereon caused by wind load. The horizontal supports further comprise wiring raceways to support wiring harnesses originating from the photovoltaic panels and terminating at the end of each row of photovoltaic panels in the array.

  • Patent number: 4617966
Abstract: An electromagnetic positioner for positioning the drive arm of a servovalve or the like, comprising an armature extending between laterally spaced pairs of vertically disposed and vertically spaced coils for pivotal movement in a plane which includes the axes of said coils, a drive arm assembly comprising a flexure tube secured to the base or lower pole of the positioner, and extending upwardly to a position above the level of the armature, and an adapter secured at its lower end to the armature and its upper end to the upper ends of the flexure tube and drive arm so that the pivot point of the armature is adjacent but above the center of rotation of the drive arm. Also provided is a null adjusting arrangement in which the driven parts are located partly in the body of the positioner and partly in the body of the pilot valve, thereby freeing space in the positioner and reducing the height thereof.

  • Patent number: 4307348
Abstract: An A.G.C. circuit is disclosed having two modulators connected in series to modulate an input signal and an amplifier for amplifying the output of the second modulator and applying it to an output terminal. A detector detects the output of the amplifier and an integrator compares the detected level with a reference so as to produce a control signal dependent on the error. The control signal is applied to the first modulator through an impedance path having an impedance which decreases with increasing frequency, and is applied to the same modulator through an impedance path having an impedance which increases with increasing frequency. In this way, the first modulator performs modulation primarily dependent on the A.C. component of the control signal and a second modulator performs modulation primarily dependent on its D.C. components of the control signal.
