  • Patent number: 7875078
Abstract: An expandable interbody fusion device for implantation into the intradiscal space between two opposing vertebral bodies of a spine comprises a superior endplate member having an upper surface for engaging a superior vertebral body in a spine, and an inferior endplate member having a lower surface for engaging an inferior vertebral body in the spine. The superior endplate member and the inferior endplate member are releasably coupled and define a cavity therebetween. At least one expansion member is configured to be introduced into the cavity to move the superior endplate and the inferior endplate members relatively apart upon introduction and to thereby decouple the superior endplate member and the inferior endplate member. An inserter may be releasably coupled to the device to facilitate insertion of the device as well as to provide a track for insertion of the expansion members.

  • Patent number: 6013103
Abstract: A knee prosthesis for replacing at least a portion of a knee joint between the distal end of a femur and the proximal end of a tibia.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 26, 1997
Date of Patent: January 11, 2000
    Assignee: Wright Medical Technology, Inc.

  • Patent number: 5964808
Abstract: A knee prosthesis including a tibial component for mounting to the proximal end of a tibia, and a femoral component for mounting to the distal end of a femur. At least the face surface of the medial condylar portion of the femoral component may be preferably substantially congruent with the face surface of a medial cavity in the upper surface of the tibial component so that substantially complete surface-to-surface contact between the face surface of the medial cavity in the upper surface of the tibial component and the face surface of the medial condylar portion of the femoral component is provided throughout a significant portion of the range of flexion of the knee joint.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 11, 1996
Date of Patent: October 12, 1999
    Assignee: Wright Medical Technology, Inc.

  • Patent number: 5201882
Abstract: The present invention provides a modular hip prosthesis, and instrumentation for implanting the same, which has provision for varying the angulation between the stem portion and the trochanteral module portion by provision of connection means between the neck and stem which can be positioned or attached together in a variety of rotational positions. Variation of the angulation or anteversion is made possible in accordance with the present invention by virtue of the fact that the axis of the connection portion of the stem and neck is angularly offset from the axis of the body of the stem and neck, respectively. A further aspect of this invention is the provision of instrumentation for formation of a cavity for implantation of a prosthesis of this invention which is provided with indication means for indicating to the surgeon the optimum angle for assembly of the prosthesis of invention for implantation into a particular proximal femur.
