  • Patent number: 10315910
Abstract: A nozzle for a dispensing spout provides physically separate conduits, through which a liquid and air pass between a reservoir containing a liquid to be dispensed and a container into which the liquid is to be dispensed. The fluid and air conduits, as well as their respective opposing ends, are sized and shaped to provide an unobstructed air conduit which can carry ambient air into the reservoir at a rate that is at least equal to the rate at which liquid can flow out of the reservoir at a gravitational flow rate.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 9, 2017
Date of Patent: June 11, 2019
    Assignee: Scepter Manufacturing, LLC.

  • Publication number: 20180327250
Abstract: A vent tube for a liquid dispensing spout having two, staggered opening poppets is sized, shaped arranged such that opening a liquid control poppet before an air control poppet creates a vacuum in a sealed reservoir. The vent tube diameter, taper and length are cooperatively selected such that the vacuum will draw out of the tube liquid that is trapped in it.

  • Publication number: 20180328505
Abstract: Linked poppet valves in a liquid dispensing spout are coupled to each other and thus open and close together responsive to displacement of a valve stem for both poppet valves. The valve stem is driven by a spring loaded actuator, which acts as a mechanical interface between the valve stem and an operator's push button.

  • Patent number: 10077145
Abstract: Two or more poppet valves are mechanically coupled or linked to each other by a web. A single valve stem operates the multiple poppets together. One poppet controls the flow of a liquid from a reservoir. The other poppet controls the flow of air into the reservoir. The air control poppet opens after the liquid control poppet enabling a vacuum to be developed in the reservoir before the air control poppet opens. Air is thus drawn into the reservoir through the air control poppet.

  • Patent number: 10023367
Abstract: Displacement of a valve stem used in a liquid dispensing spout is prohibited by a lever mounted on a fulcrum. When a user-operated end of the lever is in a first position, the opposite end of the lever abuts a travel limiter. When the user-operated lever is in a second position, the opposite end of the lever points away from the travel limiter allowing the valve stem to be displaced.
