  • Patent number: 5547406
Abstract: A floatation device with propeller drive assembly and steerable rudder for use with any standard bicycle frame allowing an individual the ability to have a self propelled water craft. The device utilizes a standard bicycle, having only the wheels removed, to provide power and steering. The bicycle is mounted to the floatation device with the chain wrapped around the chain drive sprocket of the propeller drive assembly. Because the chain drive sprocket is a standard shimano sprocket, the bicycle's rear derailer may be used to shift gears. The operator may pedal the device across a body of water, then remove the bicycle frame and remount the tires to continue travel over land.

  • Patent number: 5284648
Abstract: The invention relates to alcohol-free, oral pre-rinse and rinse emulsions containing cleaning and coating compositions that are non-irritating and low foaming thus allowing a residence time sufficient to condition teeth and gums and disruptively affect the plaque matrix. Such disruption allows for the reduction of plaque build-up by either of two efficacious and convenient mechanisms: (1) immediate removal of disrupted plaque matrix by normal brushing or (2) interruption of plaque forming activity in the mouth by frequently cleaning out plaque and plaque precursors, coupled with reduced attachment of plaque by altering the tooth surfaces with the coating compositions.

  • Patent number: 4882765
Abstract: Data is transmitted from a mobile or a base station to a booster or repeater station which, if it identifies that the same message has been retransmitted a preset number of times by the mobile or base station it automatically retransmits the data. The number of times a message has been retransmitted may be coded on each message or determined by comparing the retransmitted messages with a previously sent message that will have been stored in memory by the repeater and when the message in memory and retransmitted message are the same, registering another transmission of the message until the preset number is registered and then retransmitting the message preferrably from memory. In another arrangement the relay station receives and stores or otherwise identifies data from the mobile or base and listens for an acknowledgement from the receiving station, if no acknowledgement is received within a preset period of time the message is automatically retransmitted by the relay station.

  • Patent number: 4737992
Abstract: A loudspeaker driver has a plastic basket having front and rear portions. The front portion is formed with six radial ribs extending between a central motor cup support and an annular rim. A cup-shaped front pole piece is molded into the pole support and formed with an axial groove for accommodating an axial lead extending from the front end of a voice coil that moves axially in a gap between the circumferential wall of the front pole plate and a circular rear pole plate and circular disk neodymium disk magnet sandwiched between the rear pole plate and the closed end of the front pole plate. Flat tinsel leads are crimped to ends of the voice coil and brought out through slits in the cone to terminals in opposite sides of the rear portion of the basket. The circumferential edge of the cone is clamped between the front and rear portions of the basket and ultrasonically bonded to an annular surface on the rear of the front portion.

  • Patent number: 4252228
Abstract: A mechanism for controlling either momentary or maintained, continuous operation of devices such as valves, presses, machines and other devices which require simultaneous use of two hands by an operator to prevent accidents and injury. The mechanism includes a moveable linkage formed from rigid links pivotally connected in a closed polygon, preferably a parallelogram. A pair of hand-controlled plungers, which are biased to return the linkage to its rest position when released, enable movement of the linkage to momentarily or continuously operate an electrical switch, pneumatic valve or other contact control device only when both plungers are depressed simultaneously. A raised surface for guiding movement of the linkage is included to prevent unintended or single-handed operation. Constant depression of one plunger with intermittent operation of the other, or sequential operation of the plungers, will not engage the contact or control device.
