  • Patent number: 9008389
Abstract: A portable system for determining the amount of Vitamin D generated by a user includes a computer processing unit. A database communicates with the central processing unit and stores body type information regarding a user to be monitored by the system. A geographic positioning system sensor communicates with the computer processing unit for determining a geographic location of the system. The central processing unit determines a skin darkness, and a sun intensity as a function of the output of the geographic sensor to calculate a real time Vitamin D manufactured amount for the user as a function of the body type data, skin darkness and an amount of skin exposed, and displaying an accumulated Vitamin D manufactured amount for a selected time period at a display.

  • Publication number: 20140357336
Abstract: A video poker system configured to play a video game involving multiple hands (also termed paylines). Two hole cards are used in combination with a series of five-card hands to form a series of seven-card hands comprising five horizontal hands and two diagonal hands. After one of said two hole cards is revealed players are able to increase a game wager after which the second hole and series of five-card hands are revealed. Players are able to replace one or more of the series of five-card hands in an effort to obtain a stronger outcome. In one version, a specialized deck of fifty seven playing cards is used in lieu of a conventional deck of fifty two playing cards. The five extra cards comprise five face cards of a different suit (e.g., Eagle suit). The use of fifty seven cards creates additional hands and allows larger payouts.

  • Patent number: 5867287
Abstract: A low cost, compact projection display source that serves as a very bright image source for an automotive head up display. The present invention is comprised of a high intensity halogen light source and a liquid crystal display. The liquid crystal display is controlled by display electronics that write images onto the liquid crystal display that are to be displayed to the driver or passengers of a vehicle. Light output from the high intensity light source is transmitted through a piece of infrared energy absorbing glass, a decentered lens, such as a Fresnel lens, and a diffuser that uniformly backlights the liquid crystal display. Crossed polarizers are used on either side of the liquid crystal display. The high intensity light output transmitted by the liquid crystal display is passed through a yellow-orange output window which is projected onto a toric combiner for display to the driver of the vehicle.
