  • Publication number: 20250214318
Abstract: A glass article including a frame having a frame support surface, a glass sheet having a first major surface and a second major surface in which the second major surface is opposite to the first major surface, and an adhesive bead disposed between the frame support surface and the second major surface. The adhesive bead defines a bead path. The adhesive bead has a cross-section perpendicular to the bead path, and the cross-section includes a width and a height. The height is a maximum dimension perpendicular to the second major surface of the glass sheet, and the width is a maximum dimension parallel to the second major surface of the glass sheet. An aspect ratio of the height to the width is at least 0.6, and the width is 2 mm or less.

  • Publication number: 20200055098
Abstract: A web conveyance apparatus (101) may comprise a first cleaning device (136) with a first exterior suction port (211) laterally positioned outside of a first edge (201a) and facing a footprint (204a) of a first major surface (203a) of a web (103). In further embodiments, a method of manufacturing a web (103) may comprise conveying the web along a direction of a conveyance path and suctioning particles from the first major surface (203a) with a first exterior suction port (211) laterally positioned outside of a first edge (201a) and facing a footprint (204a) of a first major surface (203a) while conveying the web.

  • Patent number: 8808601
Abstract: Honeycomb ceramic wall flow filters exhibiting reduced plug depth variability, produced by introducing flowable ceramic plugging cements into the ends of selected channels in the honeycombs and wherein the ceramic plugging cements consist of shear-conditioned mixtures exhibiting reduced viscosity differentials.

  • Patent number: 8142859
Abstract: A method of applying a cement mixture to an exposed matrix of intersecting walls of a honeycomb body is disclosed. The method may include the steps of providing an applicator, feeding the cement mixture into applicator, forcing the cement mixture to exit the applicator with a substantially uniform velocity, while depositing the cement mixture on the exposed matrix of the honeycomb body.

  • Publication number: 20090217524
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a honeycomb article with an after-applied skin includes fixing a honeycomb body between a first support member and a second support member of a skinning apparatus, the first support member positioned against a first end of the honeycomb body and the second support member positioned against a second end of the honeycomb body. A skin layer is applied to the honeycomb body by an applicator, where a first edge of the skin layer contacts the first support member and a second edge of the skin layer contacts the second support member. At least one of the first edge and the second edge of the skin layer is heated by a heat source before removing the honeycomb body with the applied skin layer from between the first and second support members.
