  • Patent number: 12511858
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for automatically determining a diagnostic test result from a lateral flow assay are provided. The method comprises receiving at least one image of the lateral flow assay, identifying, with a hardware computer processor, a view window in the at least one image, determining, within the identified view window, a first signal strength for a control line and a second signal strength for one or more test lines, determining the diagnostic test result based on the first signal strength and/or the second signal strength, and outputting an indication of the diagnostic test result.

  • Patent number: 12385835
Abstract: Compositions, articles, systems, and methods for sensing and/or authentication using luminescence imaging are generally provided. In some embodiments, an article (or packaging material of an article) is associated with an emissive material comprising an emissive species (e.g., a luminescent species). In some cases, the emissive species has an emission lifetime of at least 10 nanoseconds (ns). In some cases, a characteristic of an article (e.g., identity, authenticity, age, quality, purity) may be determined by obtaining an image (or series of images) comprising time-dependent information related to an emissive species. In certain instances, for example, the emission lifetime of an emissive species may be determined from an image (or series of images). Since the emission lifetime of an emissive species may be modified by a number of factors, including but not limited to binding or proximity to other molecules (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20240181054
Abstract: The application relates to biological components, methods, systems, and kits for modulating immune responses. The disclosed biological components include genetically modified cells comprising an inserted exogenous sequence in a major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-associated gene. The inserted exogenous sequence encodes a peptide and the genetically modified cells express a fusion protein comprising the peptide and at least a portion of the polypeptide encoded by the MHC-associated gene to form a modified MHC complex. The genetically modified cells may present the peptide as an antigen associated with the MHC complex and may be utilized in methods for modulating T cell activity, inducing an immune response, and inducing a tolerogenic response. As such, the disclosed biological components, methods, systems, and kits may be utilized in order to treat and/or prevent a disease or disorder in a subject in need thereof and to screen and validate clinically relevant antigens.

  • Patent number: 11726093
Abstract: Components, systems, and methods for gas sensing identification are generally disclosed. In some embodiments, a characteristic of an article (e.g., identity, authenticity, property, product associated information such as age or quality, etc.) may be determined by determining the presence (e.g., an amount) or absence of a chemical compound (or compounds) emanating from the article. For example, the presence or absence of the compound (or compounds) emanating from the article identifies a characteristic of the article. In some embodiments, the chemical compound(s) has been proactively added to the article. That is to say, in some embodiments, the chemical compound is not inherently associated with the article but is added in order to, for example, identify a characteristic of the article.

  • Patent number: 11197889
Abstract: Isolated cells are described that are not embryonic stem cells, not embryonic germ cells, and not germ cells. The cells can differentiate into at least one cell type of each of at least two of the endodermal, ectodermal, and mesodermal lineages. The cells do not provoke a harmful immune response. The cells can modulate immune responses. As an example, the cells can suppress an immune response in a host engendered by allogeneic cells, tissues, and organs. Methods are described for using the cells, by themselves or adjunctively, to treat subjects. For instance, the cells can be used adjunctively for immunosuppression in transplant therapy. Methods for obtaining the cells and compositions for using them also are described.
