  • Publication number: 20070289662
Abstract: A filling system for filling plastic bags and containers in an expedited and relatively dust-free manner. The filling system includes a coaxial tube having a supply passage for supplying a material and a return passage for drawing dust from the container during filling. The coaxial tube includes at least one aperture within the sidewall that extends into the return passage that forms a vacuum suction force against a wall of film surrounding the coaxial tube during filling of a container.

  • Publication number: 20060189468
Abstract: A bag having an inwardly disposed seam is manufactured from a sheet of plastic bag material having two major surfaces and two parallel side edges. A first seam seals the two parallel side edges together at the same major surface with the side edges disposed inwardly of the tube to form the sheet of plastic bag material into a tube with internal flap portions extending interiorly of the tube. At least one seal across the tube is provided for forming at least a three-sided bag structure (and preferably two seals across the tube for forming a closed four-sided bag structure) whereby presstue in the interior of the bag acts against the internal flap portions disposed inwardly of the tube to enhance the sealing of the seam. The bag is filled at an opening defined along the opposite side edges of the seam facing inwardly of the tube.

  • Publication number: 20010029724
Abstract: In the process of die-cutting bag stacks to form individual bag tops, die-cut handle apertures, or other mounting apertures, die blade configurations forming the vent lines of an array of vent apertures are also used to bond the outer surfaces of the front and rear bag walls together. The die-cutting operation selectively bonds the successive front and rear bag walls together at or adjacent the cut edges of the vent lines, thereby allowing the bags in a bag stack to subsequently self-open when dispensed.

  • Patent number: 6254521
Abstract: A flat plastic bag is formed from a side gusseted tubular web. The bag is formed with an open end and a opposite spaced end seal. Hinge crease patterns are formed in each of the gusseted portions at the bottom end of the bag. The pattern includes a two ridge upper leg and a three ridge bottom leg which are formed by a cold sealing process. A bag making machine includes a web supply which is passed through a web feed supply section to form the gusseted web. The gusseted web is sent through a forming section. The segment is first formed with the patterns of two bags in immediately adjacent relationship and located to the opposite sides of a common line defining the end of the adjacent bags. The web is formed into two bag segments with the creases located at each of the segment ends. The web is passed through a unit creating the seal and simultaneously severing the upstream segment.

  • Patent number: 5690228
Abstract: A plastic bag pack and rod mounting means in which the bag pack is comprised of a pair of gusseted panels secured together at their bottom and side edges and leaving at least an unsecured portion of the upper edges to define a bag mouth. The gusseted panels are orificed adjacent the outer gusset edges and at the level of the bag mouth. Orificed retaining means are provided along the upper edges of the panel. The bag pack is mounted on a pair of parallel horizontal rods spaced apart from each other by the distance between the bag panel orifices, with the rods extending from a supporting backing member by a distance measured from the face of the bag pack equal to at least half of the total of the dimension of a bag gusset, when fully extended, and the dimension of the face of the bag. The orificed retaining means along the edges of the bag panels may or may not be detachable.
