  • Patent number: 7249932
Abstract: A rotary pump includes an impeller mounted on a shaft (12) supported for rotation in bearings. A bearing and bearing casing assembly (26) proximate the impeller is prone to ingress of undesirable matter. A shield assembly (40) includes the shaft (12) and a shield (40) rotatable with the shaft and positioned intermediate the impeller and the bearing assembly (26). The shield comprises an integral, moulded, disc (42) and composite rim (44), which includes a lip (50) having an inwardly proud beading (52) normally touching an outer periphery (34.1) of the bearing assembly. A cowl (48) surrounds the lip with clearance when the shaft (12) rotates. The beading (52) dilates under centrifugal force to provide running clearance.

  • Patent number: 5891149
Abstract: The apparatus for removal of bone-cement comprises means to generate an ultrasonic signal and a tool element including an elongate stem (1) to transmit the signal to a distal end:. A plurality of spoke members (3), preferably four or eight, extend radially from adjacent the distal end to connect with an annular member (2) surrounding and spaced from the distal end. A plurality of openings (4) are each defined by the stem (1), the annular member (2) and two of the spokes (3). The annular member (2) is provided with a distally facing cutting edge. The spokes (3) are so configured as to transmit to and allow axial movement of the annular member (2) with respect to the stem (1), with an enhanced displacement relative to that of the stem (1).

  • Patent number: 4549242
Abstract: This invention concerns a multi-pole circuit breaker with molded case and static tripping unit, comprising an electronic device to process the signals delivered by current transformers associated with each pole, which electronic processing device is part of a subassembly inserted in a compartment of the molded case and delivers a tipping signal to a tripping coil in the case of an overload or a short-circuit. A feature of the circuit breaker according to the invention is that the aforementioned compartment is sealed off from the rest of the inside of the molded case and is in open communication with the ambient atmosphere by means of ventilation holes provided in the outer walls protected from the circuit-breaking gases generated inside the casing and is cooled down by the air circulating through these ventilation holes, while the aforementioned current transformers are housed in the other separate part of the casing.
