  • Publication number: 20240171061
Abstract: An ultracapacitor module includes an ultracapacitor cell stack containing one or more ultracapacitor cells. The ultracapacitor module includes a bidirectional boost/buck DC/DC converter. The ultracapacitor cell stack and the DC/DC converter are configured to be connected in series with a voltage bus of a vehicle. The ultracapacitor module includes a voltage sensor configured to determine an operating voltage Vo of the voltage bus. The ultracapacitor module includes an electronic controller in electrical communication with the DC/DC converter and the voltage sensor. The electronic controller is configured to control the DC/DC converter using a first set of control parameters when an operating voltage Vo is greater than a target bus voltage value Vt, and control the DC/DC converter using a second set of control parameters different from the first set of control parameters when the operating voltage Vo of the voltage bus is less than the target bus voltage value Vt.

  • Publication number: 20240171076
Abstract: An ultracapacitor module may include an ultracapacitor cell stack, a boost/buck DC/DC converter, a temperature sensor configured to measure a temperature T, a voltage sensor configured to determine an operating voltage Vo of the voltage supply bus; and an electronic controller connected with the DC/DC converter, the temperature sensor, and the voltage sensor. The ultracapacitor cell stack and the DC/DC converter are connected with the voltage supply bus, The electronic controller is configured to determine an initial voltage value Vi corresponding to the measured temperature T, determine an adjustment voltage value Va when the rate of change dV/dt of the operating voltage Vo is less than a predetermined threshold, calculate a target bus voltage value Vt using a first formula Vt=Vi+Va, and control the DC/DC converter to be in a boost mode or a buck mode to maintain the voltage Vo near the voltage value Vt.

  • Publication number: 20210382385
Abstract: An inflatable display system with a projection screen on two opposing sides is provided that allows a single inflatable display support to allow viewers to watch the screens on both sides, thereby doubling the number of viewers per inflatable display support without increasing the size of the display support. An opaque material may be placed between the projection screens or integrated into the back of the screens to avoid interference from light from images projected from the opposite side. In this way, a screen operator or user can accommodate viewers on both sides of the display system, essentially doubling viewer capacity without having to set up two inflatable supports or increase the size of the screen/support system.
