  • Patent number: 5334907
Abstract: A cooling device for microwave tubes includes a cold part and a heat-conducting member having a first surface in contact with a surface of the cold part. A second surface of the heat-conducting member is in contact with an envelope of the tube. The surface of the cold part and the first surface of the heat-conducting member are respectively concave and convex. The device can be applied to the cooling of microwave tubes including klystrons, travelling-wave tubes and gyrotrons.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 22, 1992
Date of Patent: August 2, 1994
    Assignee: Thomson Tubes Electroniques

  • Patent number: 5236750
Abstract: The present invention relates to protection against the corrosive action of hydrofluoric acid.According to the invention it has been found that a material consisting of an elastomeric substrate or matrix and a filler of metal particles dispersed in the substrate, of a metal which can be oxidized by ionized hydrofluoric acid, can limit or prevent the diffusion of hydrofluoric acid. The materials according to the invention can be employed in all the suitable forms, especially as sheets, for protecting metal walls.

  • Patent number: 4798993
Abstract: In electron guns for electronic tubes, such as travelling wave tubes, for power modulating the electron beam, the distance between the cathode and the modulation grid increases the closer to the axis of the tube. Such a gun can be applied to travelling wave tubes operating with a zero enabling voltage and whose modulating frequency covers a very wide band.

  • Patent number: 4559474
Abstract: The invention provides a travelling wave tube comprising means for suppressing parasite oscillations and these means are formed by auxiliary helical delay lines placed inside the sleeve in the gaps between two adjacent dielectric supports, periodically fixed to the sleeve by metal supports and without contact with the main helical delay line.
