Assignee: E. I. Du Pont de Nemours and Company
    Inventor: Robert E. Albert
  • Patent number: 4197112
Abstract: A water-dispersible triazine herbicide composition, having improved crystallization characteristics when dispersed in water below about 37.degree. C. at concentrations above the solubility limits of the triazine, consisting essentially of (a) 1-methyl-3-cyclohexyl-6-dimethylamino-s-triazine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione, and (b) at least about 2% by weight, basis dry triazine, of a surfactant selected from the group consisting of isopropyl naphthalene sulfonic acid and alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salts thereof.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 7, 1978
Date of Patent: April 8, 1980
Assignee: E. I. Du Pont de Nemours and Company
Inventors: Robert E. Albert, James D. Metzger
  • Patent number: 4172714
Abstract: A dry compactible, herbicidal composition consisting essentially of an active herbicidal compound, a swelling bentonite, a normally liquid polyethylene glycol, anhydrous sodium sulfate, urea, an inert diluent and water can be dry compacted into an herbicidal pellet which is resistant to impact and crushing and which swells and disintegrates when contacted with small amounts of liquid water to release the herbicidal compound.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 20, 1978
Date of Patent: October 30, 1979
Assignee: E. I. Du Pont de Nemours and Company
    Inventor: Robert E. Albert
  • Patent number: 4166704
Abstract: A rotating fluid jet agitator for mixing, dispersing, dissolving and suspending powders in liquids comprising at least one primary jet mixing nozzle arranged to rotate about a generally vertical axis submerged at a predetermined elevation in a tank to project a stream of liquid radially outward from said vertical axis. The agitator includes a drive nozzle arranged to deliver a generally horizontal component of thrust which causes the agitator to rotate about the vertical axis, a speed control means and a pump for circulating liquid from the tank to the mixing nozzle and drive nozzle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 29, 1978
Date of Patent: September 4, 1979
Assignee: E. I. Du Pont de Nemours and Company
    Inventor: Robert E. Albert
