  • Patent number: 9508075
Abstract: A system that investigates, identifies and cancels fraudulent transactions comprises a fraud detection server that receives a first dataset indicating a quantity of fraud-transactions. The first dataset is generated at least in part by a fraud-score model. The system receives a second dataset including a quantity of false positive fraud-transactions from the fraud transactions. The system calculates a fraud error rate using the quantity of fraud-transactions and the quantity of false positive fraud-transactions. The system generates a new fraud-score model when the fraud error rate exceeds a predefined error rate.

  • Publication number: 20140114840
Abstract: A system includes a transaction server configured to receive and process retail transactions. A fraud detection server is in communication with the transaction server and is configured to generate a plurality of fraud models from a first subset of the retail transactions. Each fraud model represents a potentially fraudulent transaction. The fraud detection server further predicts an effectiveness of each of the plurality of fraud models to identify potentially fraudulent transactions, selects the fraud model based at least in part on the predicted effectiveness based on the first subset of the retail transactions, and transmits the selected fraud model to the transaction server. The transaction server is configured to apply the selected fraud model to at least a second subset of the retail transactions to identify potentially fraudulent transactions.

  • Patent number: 8370321
Abstract: Various system embodiments of the present invention are directed to an automated concierge system through which users of the automated concierge system can request and obtain many types of information and services. Unlike traditional search engines and electronic query-processing interfaces, the automated concierge systems provide much greater flexibility with respect to means of access, including types of electronic devices and communications media that can be used to access the concierge services, greater flexibility in the timing of responses to information and service requests, more efficient information and service provision, and access to a much broader range of information sources and service providers.

  • Patent number: 6045057
Abstract: One aspect of the present invention is a spray gun adapted for spray-applying fiber-reinforced resins with ceramic fiber loadings of at least about 55 wt-%. Such novel spray gun has an inlet for admitting the fiber-reinforced resin; an air inlet for atomizing the fiber-reinforced resin; a catalyst inlet; and an outlet for expelling catalyzed fiber-reinforced resin from the spray gun. The spray gun also has a straight-line delivery channel in fluid communication with the resin inlet, the catalyst inlet, and the outlet. A flow actuator is provided for selectively actuating admission of the fiber-reinforced resin and the catalyst into the spray gun. The resin inlet and the catalyst inlet are disposed for admitting resin and catalyst, respectively, in line into the straight-line delivery channel.
