  • Patent number: 6273644
Abstract: An apparatus and method for inserting a new service pipe into an existing high pressure service pipe that contains a leak, without the necessity of excavation or separately shutting off the supply of the high pressure gas upstream of the effected pipe section. A nosecone coupled with a unique stopper assembly allows a temporary sealing of the high pressure pipe between the main and the leak point, and insertion flow of a sealer through the nosecone, such that the sealer fills the annular space between the new pipe and the old pipe, providing a gas tight permanent seal. The end of the stopper assembly has temporary stop plug that must be drilled open to reestablish the communication of high pressure gas into the new pipe without the chance of flow entering the old pipe.

  • Patent number: 5460071
Abstract: A carriage having rotary cutter wheels is mounting for reciprocation on a frame adapted to be rigidly secured to a pipe casing which is desired to be split along a line parallel to its axis. A hydraulic motor is mounted to the frame at one end of the carriage. A rotary crank driven by the motor is coupled to an arm which is also coupled to drive the carriage in a reciprocating motion. An adjustable hydraulic valve controls the speed of the motor, and thus the speed of the cutter. An adjustable stabilizer is mounted to the frame to stabilize the cutter by bracing against the carrier pipe within the casing.

  • Patent number: 5395118
Abstract: A game board apparatus for use by two teams of players is provided. The game board apparatus includes a grid of equal sized squares. Two of the squares represent starting points for each of the teams, respectively. Further, two adjacent clusters of squares form reserved areas for each of the two teams, respectively, which permits only the team that owns the reserved area to start a word within the reserved area. A bonus bridge dividing line is positioned between the two reserved areas. Bridging the two arrays emanating from the respective starting points and forming a word which crosses the bonus bridge dividing line yields additional bonus points.

  • Patent number: 5321233
Abstract: An electrofusion fitting for sealing a distribution line, or main, includes upper and lower arcuate sleeve members securely coupled together about the line by means of nut and bolt combinations. Extending radially from the upper sleeve member is a cylindrical flange with a threaded end portion through which a line tapping tool may be inserted for either inserting a seal in the line or for coupling a branch line to the distribution line. A pair of electrodes extending from the upper sleeve member form an electrofusion circuit with a heating conductor disposed intermediate the line and upper sleeve member for forming a fusion bond therebetween. A sealing gasket is disposed about the flange opening in the upper sleeve member to provide an immediate, temporary seal between the upper sleeve member and the line to permit rapid sealing of the line followed by permanent electrofusion sealing of the fitting on the line permitting the immediate tending to any necessary repair work to the line.

  • Patent number: 4430733
Abstract: A digital switching device of the stored program type operating under the control of a central control unit has a first stage which multiplexes digital signals from a plurality of line units and separates data signals from signalling information. The data signals are fed to an input time switching stage. The input time switching stage operates under the control of the central control unit to transmit signals from an input port in a particular time slot on a highway to an output time switching stage. The output time switching stage transmits the data signals to the first stage which combines them with signalling information and after demultiplexing transmits them to appropriate ports.
