Abstract: Best links for wireless clients may be provided. A computing device may receive, from a client device, a request to join a network. Then, in response to receiving the request to join the network, initial characteristics of the client device may be evaluated. Next, an initial plurality of links list may be provided to the client device in response to evaluating the initial characteristics of the client device. Subsequent characteristics of the client device may then be evaluated. An updated plurality of links list may be provided to the client device in response to evaluating the subsequent characteristics of the client device.

  • Publication number: 20240031330
Abstract: Techniques herein facilitate a device address rotation management protocol that may be implemented for a wireless local area network (WLAN), which can be used to influence when wireless client devices or stations may rotate their Media Access Control (MAC) addresses, how to perform such rotations, and/or the like. In one example, a method may include providing, by an access point (AP), a first communication indicating that the AP supports a MAC address rotation management protocol; obtaining, by the AP, a second communication from a wireless station (STA) indicating that the STA intends to perform a MAC address rotation; and transmitting, by the AP, a third communication to influence the MAC address rotation of the STA, the third communication comprising a rotation status indicator and timing information.

  • Publication number: 20240031017
Abstract: According to one or more embodiments of the disclosure, a device associated with a first cluster of data sources may identify an amount of data from the first cluster of data sources to be sent by the device to a satellite. The device may send, to the satellite, a request for a transmission window that indicates the amount of data to be sent by the device to the satellite. The device may receive, from the satellite, an indication of an assigned transmission window during which the device may transmit data to the satellite. The satellite may compute the assigned transmission window based on the amount of data and such that the assigned transmission window does not overlap an assigned transmission window of a neighboring device associated with a second cluster of data sources. The device may send, during the assigned transmission window, the data towards the satellite.

  • Patent number: 11877154
Abstract: Techniques for identifying a trusted SSID for a wireless network are disclosed. Prior to establishing a connection with a wireless network comprising a service set identifier (SSID), a network message is received at a wireless station (STA), from an access point (AP) associated with the wireless network. The STA identifies an encrypted identifier in the network message. The STA validates the encrypted identifier, and in response determines that the AP corresponds to a trusted wireless network. The SSID is designated as trusted, at the STA.

  • Publication number: 20240015807
Abstract: Disclosed are a system and a method for selecting an additional radio link from a second access point after a connection with a first access point has been established. The first and second access points cooperate with each other by sharing information about performance and available resources. They communicate this information to a multi-link non-AP MLD device requesting the additional radio link so that the non-AP MLD can make a selection that matches the needs of its request. Information about performance includes throughput, a delay between access points, and a delay between access points and a gateway connected to the access points.

  • Publication number: 20240015660
Abstract: Methods and a system described herein manage the power of IoTs and smart devices operating on a wireless network. When an access point coupled to the network receives a low power indication from a battery-powered IoT or smart device, it may take several actions in response. In one case, it extends the target wake time to become longer and longer to preserve the device's battery. In addition, the device changes its operation to conserve power. In another case, it provides power over the wireless network to the wireless device. The access point restores the target wake time when the device returns to a power-ok condition. The device resumes operation according to the parameters in effect before the low power condition occurs.

  • Publication number: 20240014859
Abstract: Techniques for beamforming from wireless stations (STAs) are disclosed. These techniques include identifying a plurality of STAs for a beamforming group, for transmission to a wireless access point (AP). The techniques further include receiving, at the AP, first data transmitted from each of the plurality of STAs in the beamforming group to the AP at least partially at the same time, wherein the transmitting the first data from each of the plurality of STAs results in constructive interference between the transmissions from the plurality of STAs to the AP, and wherein the same first data is received from each of the plurality of STAs in the beamforming group.

  • Publication number: 20240015727
Abstract: Techniques for managing communications between access points and stations (STAs) are described herein. An access point broadcasts a trigger message to a plurality of STAs, the trigger message includes a matrix defining a plurality of resource units (RUs) that the plurality of STAs are assigned to transmit or receive data. The matrix accomplishes time division multiplexing by assigning timeslots to a plurality of STAs. The matrix accomplishes frequency division multiplexing by also assigning frequency tones to the plurality of STAs.

  • Publication number: 20240015565
Abstract: Systems and techniques for performing traffic management in a wireless network using predictive traffic identifier (TID)-to-link mapping are described. An example technique includes obtaining one or more metrics associated with communication between a client station (STA) and an access point (AP) in a wireless network. The communication between the client STA and the AP is based on a first TID-to-link map. A second TID-to-link map is determined, based at least in part on evaluating the one or more metrics with a machine learning model. Communications between the client STA and AP are performed, based on the second TID-to-link map.

  • Publication number: 20240015779
Abstract: Method for application control and Quality of Service (QoS) handling may be provided. A request may be received for scheduling a communication between an Access Point (AP) and a user device for sending data of an application. It may be determined that the request does not comprise network characteristics of the application. In response to determining that the request does not comprise the network characteristics of the application, the network characteristics may be requested from a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) controller. The network characteristics may be received from the WLAN controller. Schedules for the application may be determined based on the network characteristics. The schedules may be enabled.

  • Publication number: 20240015647
Abstract: According to one or more embodiments of the disclosure, a first device in a network may obtain a satellite communication schedule indicative of when a satellite will be in communication range of the first device. The first device may communicate with the satellite according to the satellite communication schedule. The first device may receive a request for the satellite communication schedule from a second device in the network. • Publication number: 20240015768
Abstract: Techniques for managing communications between access points (APs) and stations (STAs) are described herein. In one embodiment, an AP broadcasts a trigger message to a plurality of STAs, the trigger message including a matrix defining a plurality of resource units (RUs) that the plurality of STAs are assigned to transmit or receive data, and a fragment flag. The presence of the fragment flag, within the scheduling matrix, informs the AP that the data transmission that the fragment flag is appended to is a partial transmission that will be completed in a subsequent transmission opportunity.

  • Patent number: 11863555
Abstract: In one embodiment, a management service for a network that is executed by one or more devices establishes a trust relationship with an entity associated with an endpoint in the network. The management service receives, via a Manufacturer Usage Description (MUD) file for the endpoint, an indication that the entity desires remote access to the endpoint in the network. The management service configures, based on the indication, the network to provide a remote access connection between the entity and the endpoint in the network. The management service provides, to the entity, credentials to the entity for the remote access connection.

  • Patent number: 11855708
Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for determining quality of experience (QoE) for wireless communications are described. One technique involves transmitting a QoE support message to an access point (AP) within an access network. The QoE support message queries whether the AP supports providing key performance indicators (KPI(s)) indicative of QoE provided by the access network. An indication of whether the AP supports providing the KPI(s) is received in response to the QoE support message. The KPI(s) are received when the AP supports providing the KPI(s). A determination is made whether to communicate with the AP based at least in part on the KPI(s). Communications are then performed in accordance with the determination.
