  • Patent number: 11355958
Abstract: Where an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) is used in a system to ensure highly reliable power supply to an electronic system, occasional maintenance or repair of the UPS or its storage batteries may be required. Effecting this servicing while ensuring that the utility power continues to be supplied to the load may involve a Maintenance Bypass Assembly (MBA) comprising a plurality of manually-operated circuit breakers. The possibility of an incorrect actuation of such circuit breakers is precluded by the coordination of a plurality of electromechanically actuated circuit breakers in communication with a controller that may store a table of permitted state transitions and sequences for safe operation. Such operation may be confirmed by one or more sensors monitored by the controller.

  • Patent number: 8503458
Abstract: An apparatus and method for managing and characterizing clock domains in multi-domain networks are disclosed. A process of clock domain management is capable of receiving a data packet or data stream traveling across CES circuit. Upon obtaining a clock domain hierarchy stored in a storage location, the process identifies a clock frequency in the clock domain hierarchy in accordance with the CES circuit. The clock domain hierarchy, in one embodiment, is a searchable database containing information relating to clock domains. The clock frequency is subsequently assigned to a packet processing unit for data processing.

  • Patent number: 8416813
Abstract: An apparatus and method for managing clock domain(s) crossing several communication networks are disclosed. In one embodiment, a process capable of managing clock domains receives a data stream over a circuit emulation service (“CES”). Upon storing the data stream in a traffic buffer, the process selects a first clock domain for processing the data stream in the traffic buffer. For example, the process is capable of using the first clock domain to process and/or empty a jitter buffer, which stores CES data packets. The traffic buffer is monitored and the first clock domain can be replaced with a second clock domain if the storage capacity of the traffic buffer indicates that a different clock domain is needed.

  • Patent number: 5273370
Abstract: A device for punching holes in paper is adapted to be positioned within the binder mechanism of a loose leaf notebook. The device employs an integral receiving base having a bore and cutting aperture. A punch member is slidably disposed within the bore above the aperture and adapted to move in a reciprocal manner in orthogonal relationship to the notebook.
