  • Patent number: 5286973
Abstract: A high-energy radiation survey system capable of imaging and determining the distances of, sources of incident radiation and of determining the energy of such radiation, incorporating a shaped radiation detector shield and detector configured therein for low-noise collimation of the radiation for directional mapping. The system is capable of being mounted on a remotely controllable vehicle and of being operated from an operator's station remote from radiation hazards. The system can be used to generate high resolution radiation dose maps superimposed on a real-time video image of a room or other areas in nuclear power plants and other facilities using radioactive material.

  • Patent number: 4613041
Abstract: A kit or receptacle for storing and transporting household cleansers is provided which comprises a central carrying section and a pair of side carrying sections hingedly connected to the central section. The end walls of the central section are pentagonal in shape while the end walls of the side sections are of a trapezoidal shape which complements that of one half of the pentagonal end walls of the central section so that a rectangular box is formed when the side sections are pivoted to positions on top of the central section. Spaced vertical partitions are provided in the central section and the ends of a generally U-shaped handle extend through the pentagonal side walls between the partitions a small distance where they are held in place by clips. Grooves in the pentagonal side walls hold the sides of the handles in place.

  • Patent number: 4594739
Abstract: A floor drain for hazardous environments comprises a grating, a housing, and an elastic one-way valve clamped by a flange between the grating and the housing. The valve has a tubular body with contacting parallel wall portions which open when a liquid enters the valve. The valve closes when there is no pressure at the inlet. The valve closes more tightly in the event of elevated down stream pressure, positively preventing the escape of gas. An existing, unprotected drain can be retrofitted with the one-way valve.
