  • Patent number: 8468825
Abstract: One or more methods for generating electricity using waste heat are provided herein. The method can include providing an exhaust gas to a first silencing chamber within an inner housing of a heat recovery silencer, flowing the exhaust gas from the first silencing chamber to a second silencing chamber within the inner housing, flowing the exhaust gas from the second silencing chamber to a third silencing chamber within the inner housing and imparting a spiral flow path to the exhaust gas as the exhaust gas enters the third silencing chamber.

Date of Patent: June 25, 2013
    Assignee: Maxim Silencers, Inc.
Inventors: Robert E. Cone, Mitzi Jones Gass, Matthew Wayne Wishert
  • Patent number: 8397493
Abstract: One or more methods for recovering waste heat from a combustion system performing a first operation and a second operation with the waste heat are provided herein. The method can include providing exhaust from a combustion system performing the first operation to an inner housing of a heat recovery silencer. Heat can be transferred from the exhaust to a heat transfer fluid in a heat recovery flow path to form a heated heat transfer fluid. The heat recovery flow path can be formed between the inner housing and an outer housing of the heat recovery silencer to form a heated heat transfer fluid.

  • Patent number: 8069660
Abstract: One or more systems for silencing and extracting waste heat from exhaust of a combustion system for performing an operation and using the waste heat to perform an additional operation are provided herein. The system can include a heat recovery silencer. An inner housing of the heat recovery silencer can be in fluid communication with a combustion system. A heat recovery flow path of the heat recovery silencer can have an outlet port in fluid communication with an auxiliary device inlet, and the heat recovery flow path can have an inlet in fluid communication with an axially device outlet of the auxiliary device.
