  • Publication number: 20110174761
Abstract: A tamper-evident cap is disclosed including a closure member and an annular wall depending outward therefrom to a bottom rim. Annular wall has a flange or sealing member extending inwardly adjacent to the closure member and a plurality of threads spaced apart and helically positioned to cooperate with respective threads of a container neck finish having substantially the same outward shape. A band is circumferentially positioned around and attached to the bottom rim by ties, and includes a pull tab and teeth. The pull tab extends from a part of the band and is preferably positioned within the circumference of the band. The teeth have an inner face angled acutely relative to the rim and being designed fit with the neck finish. A cap in combination with a neck finish having a vertical wall for sealing engagement with the cap annular flange is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5480045
Abstract: A blow molded container has a cylindrical neck portion with novel seven circumferentially spaced continuous spiral thread configurations on its exterior to immediately receive and engage an improved tamper indicating flexible cap comprising a top with an annular depending wall on its peripheral edge and seven circumferentially spaced continuous spiral thread configurations on the inner surface of the annular depending wall. The novel constructions enable the tamper indicating flexible cap to immediately engage the lead-in ends of the seven circumferentially spaced thread patterns on the exterior of the neck of the container without the heretofore necessary rotation of the prior art caps in order to engage the single spiral thread configuration on the neck of the container.

  • Patent number: 5465876
Abstract: A tamper evident resealable cap for use on a bottle, the cap having an upstanding pour spout registering with an opening in the center of the cap and a smaller diameter plug positioned thereabove on a plurality of upwardly angled legs on the pour spout. The cap having a flexible annular ring attached to the cap by a plurality of radially extending frangible elements with the plurality of circumferentially spaced radially inwardly extending angular projections arranged for registration with a neck portion on the bottle to prevent rotation in one direction without removal of the ring.

  • Patent number: 5104008
Abstract: A cap for a bottle, such as a blow molded sports's water bottle, having a neck surrounding an opening therein and a pair of vertically spaced fastening configurations on the exterior thereof, the cap having an annular tear skirt depending therefrom, the tear skirt having a pull tab for the removal thereof, the cap having an upstanding pour spout or tube registering with an opening in the center of the cap and a smaller diameter plug positioned thereabove on a plurality of upwardly angled legs on said pour spout. A pair of annular ribs are formed on the exterior of the pour spout to permit vertical movement of a top cap having an opening therein registrable with said plug. An annular ring having an inturned annular flange thereon is positioned on the pour spout below one of said annular ribs and is detachably secured to the top cap by a plurality of frangible elements.

  • Patent number: 4722447
Abstract: A tamper indicating container and closure combination in which the container has configurations about the neck thereof registering with configurations on a separate portion of a closure engageable therewith, which separate portion is separated from the closure when the closure is removed from the container. A sealing disc is positioned in the closure by limited frictional engagement therewith so that when the closure is removed from the container, the separable portion of the closure remains on the container as an indicator and the sealing disc remains in sealing relation on the container and must be wholly or partially removed by a tab thereon to gain access to the contents of the container whereby the sealing disc and tab forms a second indicator.

  • Patent number: 4687114
Abstract: A flexible closure for a container such as a blow molded jug having an inturned flange surrounding an opening therein and a pair of vertically spaced fastening configurations on the neck of the container, the closure having a resilient cap portion with an annular flange depending therefrom, vertically spaced fastening configurations on said annular flange positioned for registry with said fastening configurations on said neck, a lower portion of said annular flange forming a tear skirt. The fastening configurations on the neck of the container and the fastenign configurations on the annular flange of the flexible closure forming dual fasteners, either of which is capable of holding the closure on the neck of the container. One or more resilient flexible depending ribs on the resilient cap portion sealingly engage said inturned annular flange surrounding said opening.
