  • Patent number: 4122911
Abstract: A loudspeaker having a magnet housing and mounting flange is mounted within an enclosure including an inner member of corrugated fiberboard cut at angles to the corrugations thereof to define hingedly interconnected panels foldable to form a generally prismoidal housing with a speaker opening in one wall and with support panels extending from the bottom of the housing and recessed to receive the speaker magnet housing therein to support same. The walls of the corrugated housing are held in assembled configuration by interlocking tabs and slots and interlocking tongues and recesses, and the speaker mounting flange overlies the outer surface of the one wall and is trapped thereagainst by a face panel of corrugated fiberboard.

  • Patent number: 4071111
Abstract: A weatherproof loudspeaker assembly includes a box-like one-piece open-front plastic housing and a corrugated fiberboard member folded so as to line the inside of the housing with two crossed layers of corrugations on each of the walls surrounding the open front. A plastic grille plate has a plurality of slots therethrough separating forwardly projecting vanes, and a loudspeaker has a water-repellent front portion including a peripheral mounting and sealing flange mounted in watertight sealing engagement with the rear of the grille plate in surrounding relationship with the slots by means of plastic posts extending from the grille plate through holes in the loudspeaker flange and melted in place to form a rivet-like fastening.

  • Patent number: 4019708
Abstract: A swivel mount includes a support bracket including a pair of parallel swivel arms spaced apart to accommodate a loudspeaker assembly therebetween, and having coaxial openings therethrough respectively carrying therein two plunger-actuated expansion type fasteners, the expansible portions of which extend inwardly from the swivel arms. Two swivel members are respectively fixedly secured to opposite sides of the loudspeaker assembly, each having a hollow cylindrical portion receiving therein the expansible portion of the adjacent fastener for support thereon and for rotational and axial movement with respect thereto. Each swivel member carries detent teeth and is axially movable for meshing engagement thereof with complementary detent teeth on the adjacent swivel arm for preventing relative rotational movement of the swivel member and swivel arm.

  • Patent number: 3993345
Abstract: A loudspeaker enclosure for an automobile trunk-mounted open loudspeaker carried beneath the rear package shelf of the automobile comprises a closed housing having an opening in the top wall thereof shaped and dimensioned to permit the housing to be fitted over the loudspeaker, with the housing top wall disposed snugly against the underside of the rear package shelf, and an elastic strap for releasably holding the housing in place over the loudspeaker. The housing includes two inner box-like members each comprising a plurality of hingedly interconnected panels formed from a single piece of corrugated fiberboard, and an outer plastic shell, the inner corrugated members and the outer shell all being fastened together in a nested configuration, so that each wall of the housing except the top wall has at least two layers of corrugations. A cushion is provided between the rear package shelf and the top wall of the housing.
