  • Patent number: 10638404
Abstract: A communication device may be assigned to a resident of a controlled-environment facility. A data network interface of the resident device establishes a connection with a resident network via one or more network access points located within the facility. A tracking network interface of the resident device transmits location tracking signals received by location tracking devices located within the facility. The resident device connects with the resident network via the data network interface in providing services to the resident. During intervals when the resident device is not connected to the resident network via the data network interface, tracking network interface is used to transmit the location tracking signals.

  • Patent number: 4614055
Abstract: A method and apparatus for servicing trunked plants such as citrus trees in which water, in heated or unheated form, is delivered by a manifold system to the base of each tree, conducted upwardly in a hose helically upwardly encircling the tree to a collar encircling the tree at an intermediate location on the trunk, and discharged from a plurality of circumferentially spaced openings in the collar and allowed to flow by gravity back down the trunk. In unheated form, the water irrigates and nourishes the tree trunk. In heated form, the water warms the tree trunk and protects the tree trunk from frost damage. The heated tree trunk and heated water will also heat the air next to the tree trunk. This heated air will rise upward and outward to heat some major branches and foliage beyond the tree trunk area.

  • Patent number: 4454411
Abstract: A roller skate has an odometer supported on a bracket located in the space between the rear wheels of the rear truck, the bracket being affixed on the truck by a U shaped shackle and shackle nuts. The odometer may be electronic, with digital display in a magnifying window and actuated by a magnet on a rear wheel. It may also be mechanical, actuated by a friction wheel rotated by a skate wheel and movable into and out of contact by a set screw or lever and spring arrangement. The odometer can be read by raising the heel after skating.
