  • Patent number: 9702650
Abstract: A method to attenuate the blast wave/blast overpressure from a weapon discharge by leaking an effective quantity of propellant gas from behind the projectile, into the precursor gas flow in front of the projectile, while the projectile is still in the weapon barrel—whereby the exit pressure ratio of the projectile from the weapon is surprisingly reduced by about 95%—resulting in a reduction of from about 51.6 to about 58.2% in the peak pressure level/sound wave which impacts the user or crew of the weapon.

  • Patent number: 4372708
Abstract: A two component resin capsule is disclosed for grouting an anchor element in a predrilled hole. More specifically, a flexible resin capsule is provided which may be wound on a reel and fed into a predrilled hole of any length. The resin capsule includes a plurality of pairs of sealing clips which enable the capsule to be severed intermediate any one of these pairs, thereby providing a capsule having a length corresponding to the length of the predrilled hole. The resin capsule, formed from a frangible material, includes a resin and a hardener housed in discrete compartments. The capsule is placed in a bolt hole such that when an anchor bolt is inserted, the capsule ruptures enabling the contents to mix and harden thereby achieving a secure resin bolting system.

  • Patent number: 4227612
Abstract: A multi-compartment capsule having a longitudinally extending tubular inner compartment for containing a catalyst and a longitudinally extending tubular outer compartment around the inner compartment for containing a resin composition. The container is formed of two-ply film strip material in which at least one ply is of thermoplastic material. The two-ply strip material is made up of two portions overlapped and welded together along a longitudinally extending edge with the thermoplastic material sides facing each other and forming the weld. One edge of the two-ply strip is folded upon itself along one edge to bring the thermoplastic material ply into contact and welded to form the inner compartment. The other strip edge is folded over the inner compartment to bring the thermoplastic material ply of such other edge into contact with the thermoplastic ply and welded to form the longitudinally extending outer compartment.
