  • Patent number: 10875744
Abstract: An air supply system in building elevators for the purpose of providing continuous purified and filtered exterior air for the improved safety of elevator cab passengers. The air supply system is separate from that of the building. System components include: an air intake means in the top of the building to receive exterior air; an air filtering and purifying mechanism; an air blower and compressor; air heating and cooling unit; a pressure controlled air plenum; a flexible vertical lightweight traveling tube that continuously carries purified air from the plenum near the top of the building to the cab interior, a flexible vertical lightweight air exhaust traveling tube that continuously carries spent air from the cab interior discharge conduit to the building exterior exhaust, wherein both tubes are affixed to the elevator traveling cable and extend the height of the building.

  • Publication number: 20030191661
Abstract: A method for standardizing and syndicating international business transactions over a communications network, comprising the steps of receiving a transactional request containing terms of the business transaction from a client and categorizing the transaction into pre-defined categories. The method retrieves the functional templates for the pre-defined categories from a database and generates functional aspects of the business transaction, such as forms, documents and the like, based on the terms of the business transaction and client information to enable the client to execute the business transaction.

  • Patent number: 6588353
Abstract: The invention is a rigid supporting member that changes position within a pocket of sheet material to accommodate a deployed position and a stowed position, as may be used, for example, with battens in roller furling sails. The member is placed within the pocket formed within sheets of a pliable material, or attached to the pliable material, and the member is movably secured within the pocket, such as with a pivoting fixture. The member may be rotated into a first position that supports a shape of the pliable material when the pliable material is deployed, and a second position that accommodates stowage of the pliable material through folding, rolling, or the like. A variety of control systems may be used to control rotation or other movement of the member, and to control deployment and stowage of the pliable material.

  • Patent number: 4741281
Abstract: A sail system in which the sail is reefed or furled by dropping and folding it progressively into a cover extending along the foot. The cover has starboard and port cover sides extending upwardly from the foot and joining cover lifters which are in turn attached to the sail. The cover sides have closure means along their upper edges for fastening them together after the sail and fly have been fully furled therewithin. Lazy jacks extend along each side of the sail and downwardly to the foot. One or more reef lines may each extend from the foot upwards through a cover side, through a reef cringle on the sail, and downwardly to a pulley attached at the clew.
