Abstract: A protective cover intended to be applied over butt plates of door hinges to protect them from paint spray and the like while the door or door jamb are being painted, the covers consisting of a flat sheet of material having an even coating of pressure sensitive adhesive applied completely over the back surface thereof and with there being a thin sheet of protective film backing applied over the pressure sensitive adhesive to protect the same until the cover is to be used.
