  • Patent number: 4767148
Abstract: A multiple level elevating cot adapted to be rolled into emergency vehicles having different floor heights, the cot having a wheeled undercarriage mounting sets of cross-forming members in which the pivot points of the cross-forming members are offset with respect to their points of intersection and at least one of each set of cross-forming members is telescopic, the cross-forming members, when in the fully elevated position, acting to incline upwardly the forward end of a cot frame mounted on the upper ends of the cross-forming members, the cot frame mounting retractable loading wheels at its forward end. The cot frame may form a part of an integral stretcher or may serve as a carrier to which a separable top structure, such as a stretcher/stair chair, may be detachably secured, the cot frame including seats for slidably receiving the top structure and latching means for securing the top structure to the cot frame.

  • Patent number: 4480345
Abstract: An adjustable break-away stretcher having a pair of complimentary frame parts detachably interconnected at each end, the frame parts including a body section and an extensible leg section each mounting aligned patient supporting panels, the extensible leg section having cylindrical tubular frame members telescopically received in polygonal tubular members in the body section, the polygonal frame members having mating polygonal plugs at their ends adapted to be slidably but non-rotatably received in the polygonal tubes so as to prevent the tubular frame members from rotating relative to the body section, the arrangement preventing misalignment between the patient supporting panels of the leg section relative to those of the body section when the frame parts are detached and, where locking pins are used to fix the position of the extensible leg section relative to the body section, misalignment of the locking pins relative to the openings in which they are received is also prevented.

  • Patent number: 4444579
Abstract: Apparatus capable of tempering bent glass sheets of different sizes and shapes including sharp bends about axes oblique to the length and width of the glass sheets is made possible by supporting end nozzle boxes of tempering apparatus in such a manner that they can be moved relative to center nozzle boxes and also permitting limited pivotal adjustment of the end nozzle boxes about both essentially horizontal and essentially vertical axes to permit the end nozzle boxes to move into positions conforming to the shape of corresponding end portions bent to different orientations relative to the length and/or width of the central portion of the bent glass sheets having different glass sheet patterns, including flat patterns.

  • Patent number: 4437753
Abstract: A camera support for use in stabilizing a handheld camera against movement, wherein the camera is fixed to a pedestal having two attached support arms which contact the photographer's body to stabilize the camera. Preferably, the two support arms contact the shoulder and sternal regions of the photographer's body for the best stabilization of the camera. Both support arms are adjustable, and the angular orientation and length of the second support arm may be adjusted independently of the angular orientation and length of the first support arm. Other aids to supporting the camera may be used in conjunction with the camera support.

  • Patent number: 4369985
Abstract: A one man cart for carrying articles of merchandise having a main horizontal frame having auxiliary wheels at the forward end thereof, a pair of rear legs pivoted from the front of said main frame and inclined downwardly and rearwardly, a toggle brace pivoted to the rear of said main frame and inclined downwardly and forwardly and pivoted to said rear legs, front legs pivoted to the front of said frame and extending substantially vertically downwardly. A mechanism is provided to lock and unlock said front legs so that they may be pivoted rearwardly for operations such as moving the cart up and down stairs while holding the cart by an extension of the rear legs at the front of the cart. The toggle braces for the rear legs are pivotal to unlock the rear legs.

  • Patent number: 4251178
Abstract: A cart for use in transporting and demonstrating business machines and the like, the cart comprising a wheel section and a handle section each having spaced apart pairs of track forming frame members along which a carriage for mounting a business machine is adapted to travel from a transport position in which the carriage lies adjacent the lower end of the wheel section to a demonstration position adjacent the upper end of the handle section which is curved to permit the upper end of the handle section to be seated on the top of a desk, the handle section mounting spring assist means in the form of a spiral spring the end of which is operatively connected to the carriage to counterbalance the weight of the business machine as the cart is moved from one position to the other, the cart having a detachable support leg which, in its position of use, converts the cart into a free-standing demonstration stand, a trunk loading attachment also being provided, the attachment comprising a track forming frame extension

  • Patent number: 4222699
Abstract: A tool support arm 22 is mounted to a plate member 18 which in turn is mounted to a horizontal rotatable table 16. The plate 18 has, on its upper face, a plurality of horizontally extending tool support sleeves 20, each sleeve cooperating with one of the horizontally extending tool support arms for secure engagement and quick release therebetween. The sleeve includes means 40, 48 for indexing the tool arm therein. The tool support arms are intermediately hinged 28 for pivotal movement in a vertical plane to lower the vertical projecting tool supported thereon to a non-interfering inactive position while the active tool on another tool support arm extending horizontally from the plate is in the active, raised position.

  • Patent number: 4198061
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning record disks in which the disks are held by a turntable and rotated beneath a mechanism that imparts an electrostatic charge to dust particles on the information bearing surfaces. The charged and thus loosened particles are removed by a vacuum device. A blower and an attraction member charged oppositely to the particles further enhance the cleaning action of the vacuum.

  • Patent number: 4146134
Abstract: Newly made glass containers received on a conveyor belt in random orientation are conveyed and brushed into transversally separated columns in lying-down orientation, mouths randomly forwards and rearwards. An escapement periodically addresses the leading row of the columns and sets all the containers of this row in a mouth-upwards upright condition. These upright containers are transferred, several at a time, to individual pockets of an indexing rotary table. Typically, the table has four positions, in which the containers are respectively loaded into pockets, plug gauged, photoelectrically inspected, and unloaded. The relative position of inspection-failing containers is stored in a memory and, in connection with unloading the rotary table, these containers are culled. Apparatus for accepting and automatically packing the inspection-passing containers in boxes is preferably juxtaposed with the unloading station of the rotary table.
