  • Method and apparatus for cleaning a surface utilizing shot blasting

    Abstract: A surface is treated by rotating a blast wheel to direct shot at the surface. The blast wheel is enclosed by a blast head mounted on a frame supported on the surface by a plurality of wheels. At least two of the wheels are driven by hydraulically actuated motors supplied from a reservoir by a first hydraulic pump. A second hydraulic pump is also connected to the reservoir for actuating a fan motor to drive a fan and create suction to draw the shot and loosened contaminants through a filtering system with an automatic purge control.
