Patent number: 5599094Abstract: A mounting system for luminaire assemblies includes a mounting fixture which can be inserted into a tubular pole and secured therein without the need for complicated fasteners or tools. Specifically, the mounting fixture includes a cylindrical fitting with a tapered threaded section in which the depth of the groove forming the threads decreases upwardly along the fitting. A generally circular wire clip is seated within the tapered groove and upon rotation of the fitting relative to the tubular pole an end or detent of the clip engages the inner surface of the pole thereby prevent rotation of the clip.
