  • Patent number: 4884898
Abstract: This patent relates to pillow blocks, which are constructed to include one or more roller bearings disposed in tangential relation to the primary shaft at one or more positions around its periphery. Each roller bearing is mounted to rotate about its own stud, so that it acts as a cam follower. In some embodiments the roller bearings are disposed singly, or in pairs, in three positions spaced-apart 120 degrees around the periphery of the shaft. A particular feature of the invention is a device for fine tuning the tangential contact between a roller and the surface of the primary shaft by utilizing a flexible bearing support plate supporting at least one bearing. The plate can move radially to control the radial distance of the bearing.

  • Patent number: 4715730
Abstract: This patent relates to roller bearing self-aligning pillow blocks, which are constructed to include one or more sealed roller bearings disposed in tangential relation to the primary shaft at one or more positions around its periphery. Each roller bearing is mounted to rotate about its own stud, so that it acts as a cam follower. In some embodiments the roller bearings are disposed singly, or in pairs, in three positions spaced-apart 120 degrees around the periphery of the shaft. In other embodiments the bearings disposed to the right or the left of the center are in diametrically-opposite positions. Alternatively, in another embodiment, the rollers are disposed only in contact with the upper surface of the shaft at positions spaced-apart, say, 45 degrees.

  • Patent number: 4264112
Abstract: A method and apparatus for compensating for inaccuracy between a pair of aligned shafts attached to a slide assembly for a linear reciprocating carriage. This comprises pillow blocks mounted to the carriage and held in place by the use of intermeshing gibs. These gibs are so situated as to provide a tolerance between them, which permits the respective pillow blocks to move between the gibs to compensate for misalignment of the shafts.

  • Patent number: 4128036
Abstract: In a keyboard electronic musical instrument such as an electronic organ, an electro-mechanical memory device for holding in the down or actuated position one or more simultaneously depressed accompaniment chord and bass playing keys after the finger pressure from the instrument player is removed. The signal representing the note or chord associated with the depressed key or keys is sustained as long as the keys remain latched down. A plurality of keys of the lower or accompaniment manual are adapted to be retained in the depressed position and operate as part of the electro-mechanical memory device. When a key or group of keys are latched down, the depression by the instrument player of another key releases the previously retained keys but the newly depressed key is latched down. The electro-mechanical memory also operates in conjunction with the touch mode of the automatic rhythm unit to provide a rhythm signal when the accompaniment keys are retained in the depressed position.
