  • Patent number: 6627002
Abstract: A process for treating an electrostatographic imaging member including providing a hollow cylindrical electrostatographic imaging member having an interior surface, a coated outer surface, a first end and a second end, the interior surface at at least the first end having a coating of adhesive material securing a first end flange to the first end, and propelling solid carbon dioxide pellets against the first end flange and coating of adhesive material with sufficient force to remove the first end flange and coating of adhesive material from the interior surface at at least the first end of the hollow cylindrical electrostatographic imaging member.

  • Publication number: 20020066467
Abstract: The apparatus of claim 30, further comprising a container having said brush and said cleaning element dispersed and an apparatus brush cleans the inside surface of a cylindrical photoreceptor substrate such as used in xerography. The substrate can be in a cleaning solution and brushes can also be located both inside and outside the substrate. There is relative motion, e.g., rotation, translation, a combination of both, etc., between the brushes and the substrate. A photoreceptor coating is directly applied after the cleaning without intervening processing steps.

  • Patent number: 6165660
Abstract: A process for forming an imaging member, includes providing an imaging member substrate, and applying at least a charge generating layer and a charge transport layer to the substrate, where at least one of the charge generating layer and the charge transport layer is applied from a coating solution in a dip coating process wherein a residence time of the substrate in the coating solution is greater than 1 second. The photoreceptor exhibits increased adhesion between the charge generating layer and the charge transport layer, as well as between other layers.

  • Patent number: 5788774
Abstract: There is disclosed an assembly for selectively coating a hollow, cylindrical first substrate defining a first open end region having an outer surface and an inner surface and a second open end region, the assembly including a first plug member fabricated from a nonwetting material, wherein the plug member has a bottom surface defining a pallet coupling feature and a top surface defining a cavity region encompassed by a circumferentially extending rigid side wall having an outer surface and an inner surface, wherein the first end region of the substrate is disposed in the cavity region where the inner surface of the side wall grips the outer surface of the first end region of the substrate to couple the first plug member to the first end region, whereby the plug member minimizes coating of the outer surface and the inner surface of the first end region of the substrate by a coating solution.

  • Patent number: 5722016
Abstract: An electrostatographic imaging member assembly including an electrostatographic imaging member including a substrate, an electrostatographic imaging layer, an imaging surface on the imaging layer, a back surface on the substrate, and a preformed resilient porous gas filled acoustic dampening member at least partially compressed and in pressure contact with the back surface, the pressure contact being sufficent to substantially eliminate relative movemement between the substrate and the acoustic dampening member.

  • Patent number: 5531872
Abstract: A process is disclosed for fabricating a photoconductive member comprising: depositing a photoconductive material and a charge transport material on a substrate, sequentially in any order, or simultaneously, wherein the photoconductive material, the charge transport material, or both, are electrophoretically deposited onto the substrate from a liquid composition.
