Patent number: 4949707Abstract: A retractor apparatus includes an extension rod, first and second support rods and first and second clamps. The extension rod is attached to the first support rod with the first clamp. The first support rod is attached to the second support rod with the second clamp. The first and second support rods extend outwardly over the surgical table on opposite sides of the incision and the second support rod may be moved relative to the first support rod so as to correctly position the retractors over the incision.Type: GrantFiled: January 11, 1988Date of Patent: August 21, 1990Assignee: Minnesota Scientific, Inc.Inventors: Bruce A. LeVahn, Robert E. Olson

Patent number: 4720999Abstract: A pressure transducer system which uses a Wheatstone bridge circuit to produce an electrical signal which is proportional to the amount of pressure exerted on it by gas or liquids, is disclosed. The Wheatstone bridge circuit is thermally isolated from the external environment using two diaphragms which are separated by a reservoir of silicone oil. This allows pressure to be hydraulically conveyed to the Wheatstone bridge circuit while preventing thermal contamination of the electrical signals produced by the Wheatstone bridge circuit. The pressure transducer also contains support circuitry which allows adjustment of the signals to and from the Wheatstone bridge circuit to enable the pressure transducer to be used with various electrical measuring equipment which has different operational ranges.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1986Date of Patent: January 26, 1988Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Air ForceInventor: Robert E. Olson

Patent number: 4718151Abstract: A retractor apparatus for attachment to a rail of a surgical table includes first, second and third support rods and first, second and third clamps. The first support rod is attached to the rail of the surgical table and permits movement about and along a vertical axis of the first rod. The second rod is attached to an upper section of the first rod with the second clamp. The second clamp permits movement of the second support rod about an axis of the first rod and about an axis of the second support rod and permits pivotal movement of the second rod with respect to the first rod about a pivotal axis of the second clamp. The third clamp clamps the third rod to the second rod and permits movement of the third rod along and about the axis of the second rod and about the axis of the third rod and permits movement about a pivotal axis of the third clamp.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1986Date of Patent: January 12, 1988Assignee: Minnesota Scientific, Inc.Inventors: Bruce A. Patent number: 4111038Abstract: This invention is a kit and method for testing golf balls to determine if the center of gravity is the center of the golf ball. The kit uses a liquid, such as water, having a densifying agent to increase the density of the liquid solution so a golf ball will float when placed in the solution. A wetting agent is also included in the solution to decrease the surface tension. If a golf ball, having a center of gravity at other than the center of the golf ball, is placed in the solution, the light side of the ball will rotate to the top. The light side is then marked with an indelible marker. An axis through the center of the golf ball and the mark also includes the center of gravity of the golf ball. Thereafter, the axis of the golf ball including the mark, should always be placed perpendicular to the plane of the striking surface.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 1976Date of Patent: September 5, 1978Assignee: Ray Cook Golf Putters, Inc.Inventors: Robert E. Olson, James R. Braun
