  • Patent number: 8499460
Abstract: A spring-assisted folding knife, including a one-piece knife blade having a proximal end and including a receiver on one side of its proximal end having a through bore; a blade insert made of a separate piece of material than the blade having a rear surface configured to be seated into the receiver, an opposite front surface, and a central bore extending between the rear surface and the front surface; and a coil spring received on the rear surface of the blade insert, the coil spring having a first end secured to the blade insert and an opposite second end secured to a fixed rigid surface of the knife.

  • Patent number: 7111402
Abstract: A tool generally consisting of a handle, an implement pivotally connected to the handle, a first magnetic element mounted on the implement having a magnetic field of a selected polarity intersecting a path disposed circumferentially relative to the axis of the pivotal connection and a second magnetic element mounted on the handle having a magnetic field of a polarity of one of the same or the opposite of the selected polarity intersecting the circumferential path whereby dependent upon the angular relationship of the handle and the implement, the magnetic fields will have the effect of one of a first interaction, producing no motive force for angularly biasing the implement relative to the handle, a second interaction producing a repellant motive force for angularly biasing the implement relative to the handle and a third reaction producing an attractive motive force for angularly biasing the implement relative to the handle.

  • Patent number: 6715209
Abstract: A folding cutting tool which includes a handle having gripping depressions and a plurality of cutting blades. The blades are rotably connected to the ends of the handle to allow them to be folded into the handle or extend from the handle during operation of the tool. At least one blade has at least one depression that aligns with a depression on the handle. Alternatively, the blades of the tool may fold far enough into the handle to not interfere with the depressions in the handle. The depressions allow for the user to adequately grip the handle to perform a cutting operation.

  • Patent number: 6620062
Abstract: A retractable golfer's divot tool comprising a housing, a divot tool slidable inside the housing, a spring connected between the housing and the divot tool and a locking mechanism to lock the divot tool in certain positions. The spring biases the divot tool to extend from the housing so that when the golfer presses a button member in the locking mechanism, the divot tool automatically extends from the housing. Once extended, the locking mechanism locks the divot tool in place allowing the golfer to repair the ball marks on the green. To retract the divot tool back into the housing, the golfer again presses the button member and manipulates a sliding lever to draw the divot tool back into the housing where the locking mechanism again locks the divot tool in place.
