  • Patent number: 4621848
Abstract: The portable door opening device comprises an elongated tubular member having an integral hook like means above the center of the tubular member. At the lower end of the tubular member is positioned a foot pedal member when operated by foot pressure in a down vertical motion causes a clamping collar or door knob grip to rotate and releases a conventional door latch mechanism.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 7, 1985
Date of Patent: November 11, 1986
    Inventor: Robert E. Pierce
  • Patent number: 4035521
Abstract: A build control is disclosed, for controlling the thickness of a coating on different sides of an elongated member such as a wire. The build control is a tube which is positioned around the wire as the wire passes through a fluidized powder. The end of the tube which is in the fluidized powder is notched so that the build of powder on each of the sides of the elongated member is more or less than would otherwise result.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 10, 1976
Date of Patent: July 12, 1977
    Assignee: Westinghouse Electric Corporation
Inventors: Dean C. Westervelt, Robert E. Pierce

  • Patent number: 4008685
Abstract: An improved apparatus is disclosed for controlling the build on wire moving in a vertical electrostatic fluidized bed which has opposing vacuum chambers for controlling the position of the cloud of powder in the bed. Each vacuum chamber is provided with an opening to the atmosphere and with means for controlling the size of the opening. By "spoiling" the vacuum in this manner the position of the cloud can be more precisely controlled thereby producing a more uniform coating on the wire.
