Patent number: 5552035Abstract: A process for producing zeolite aggregates involves providing a formable paste composed of zeolite, a binder composed of an organic/metal oxide containing aluminum, a peptizing agent and water; forming the paste into an aggregate, preferably by extruding into an extrudate; curing the aggregate; hydro-thermally calcining the aggregate; and washing the hydro-thermally calcined aggregate with a washing medium, preferably followed by rinsing with a rinsing medium to remove residual washing medium from the aggregate. The washed and rinsed aggregate may then be permitted to equilibrate or is subjected to a drying procedure. Preferably, the washed and rinsed aggregate is again subjected to curing/hydro-thermal calcining.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 1994Date of Patent: September 3, 1996Assignee: Exxon Research and Engineering CompanyInventors: Mark J. Patent number: 4919283Abstract: A safety system helps prevent injury from falls from stacks of containers while loading and unloading container ships using an overhead trolley crane. The crane is of the type including a frame movable in fore and aft gantry directions, a trolley track supported by the frame and a trolley movable along the trolley track in on shore and off shore trolley directions. The trolley includes a container bridle which lifts and lowers the containers during loading and unloading operations. Workers walk on the containers to place and retrieve stacking cones at the corners of the containers. The workers ride in a cage on the bridle in getting onto and off of the containers. The operational status of the crane-normal speed, slow speed or stopped-is visually indicated to the worker by colored lights on the cab. Each worker is tethered to the bridle by a short (6'), two piece safety line in case the worker falls off the stack of containers.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1988Date of Patent: April 24, 1990Assignee: Marine Terminals CorporationInventors: Robert E. Patent number: 4343836Abstract: A problem addressed by this invention was how to obtain very long lengths of refractory metal-coated multifilamentary yarns having a uniform coating on the filaments which make up each yarn, the coating being uniform throughout the length of the yarn such that the coated yarns are suitable for being woven and are suitable for a variety of other uses. The solution is a continuous process which employs a chemical vapor deposition reaction at relatively low temperature and pressure and a separation of the gaseous reaction products from the coated yarn prior to allowing the coated yarn to cool.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 1979Date of Patent: August 10, 1982Assignee: United States of America as represented by the United States Department of EnergyInventors: Lawrence R. Patent number: 4287259Abstract: Cloth is coated at a temperature below about 1000.degree. C. with amorphous boron-carbon deposits in a process which provides a substantially uniform coating on all the filaments making up each yarn fiber bundle of the cloth. The coated cloths can be used in the as-deposited condition for example as wear surfaces where high hardness values are needed; or multiple layers of coated cloths can be hot-pressed to form billets useful for example in fusion reactor wall armor. Also provided is a method of controlling the atom ratio of B:C of boron-carbon deposits onto any of a variety of substrates, including cloths.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1979Date of Patent: September 1, 1981Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the United States Department of EnergyInventors: Robert E. Patent number: 4166273Abstract: An intrusion detector system for detecting the presence of moving targets in one or more surveillance zones and activated either by the presence of the moving target or directly by some positive action for transmitting an alarm signal causing the provision of a predetermined number of pulses having predetermined time periods. A tone generator and control circuitry receiving the timed pulses, generates a combination of multiple tones of discreetly different frequencies during the timed pulses, the combination of multiple tones of each timed pulse being of different frequencies than the combination of multiple tones of each other timed pulse, to provide a tone-coded message that is transmitted to a receiver.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 1977Date of Patent: August 28, 1979Assignee: Diversified Technology, Inc.Inventors: Robert E.
