  • Patent number: 5626155
Abstract: A method of producing a custom fragrance is provided comprising the steps of selecting a series of basic scents. The scents are incorporated into a semi-solid or solid vehicle to produce a scented product. With the semi-solid vehicle the product will be in the form of a viscous cream, gel or ointment contained in a squeeze tube, jar or the like. The solid form will be wax-like and may be molded into a predetermined shape or cast into a wide-mouthed container or mechanical dispensing device. To carry-out the invention, a user transfers a selected product to a portion of one's skin or other surface. One or more additional scented products are selected and applied in the same manner. The products are then manually mixed together on the skin or other surface to form a custom fragrance in-situ.

  • Patent number: 5431906
Abstract: Solid shaving compositions comprising a soap base, a humectant (such as glycerin), water, a high molecular weight polyethylene oxide, and a suitable preservative or antioxidant. In preferred formulations, at least one anticorrosion agent is included as part of the composition. If desired, at least one silicone fluid additive, emulsifying agents, fragrances and/or colorants suitable for use in cosmetics or toiletries may also be added. The novel compositions are solids which may be produced in stick form and applied directly to the skin. The solid shaving compositions of the invention provide a desirable balance of properties, making them ideal for use as shaving aids.

  • Patent number: 4126142
Abstract: A two-stage skin treating technique wherein a film of sodium polystyrene sulfonate cosmetic solution is applied to predetermined areas of the skin and allowed to dry. The dried film tightens the skin and enhances blood circulation which causes an increase in subcutaneous fluids and diminishes skin lines. When the film is removed, scurf skin and sebaceous soil is also removed thereby creating a highly effective cleansing action. A moisture barrier formulation is subsequently applied to enhance and protect the skin moisture level while creating a fresh youthful appearance and feeling.
