  • Patent number: 4668265
Abstract: A cobalt-base alloy having a high tantalum and zirconium content and a low silicon content has superior strength and improved resistance to corrosion by molten glass. The alloy is highly suited for use in spinners for spinning molten mineral material, such as glass, into fibers.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 18, 1985
Date of Patent: May 26, 1987
    Assignee: Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation

  • Patent number: 4497771
Abstract: A cobalt-base alloy, particularly suitable for the fabrication of glass spinners and containing up to about 1.2 weight percent tantalum is disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 7, 1983
Date of Patent: February 5, 1985

  • Patent number: 4261817
Abstract: In a sieving apparatus a suction chamber is connected to a source of vacuum. The chamber is connected to sieve by a plurality of air channels. Air inlets supply air to the underside of the sieve to agitate the material being sieved. A sieve case has a cover with apertures to permit more air to enter the sieve case to further agitate the material being sieved.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 25, 1979
Date of Patent: April 14, 1981
Inventors: Philip Edwards, Robert E. Spencer
