  • Publication number: 20240094889
Abstract: Computerized systems and methods are provided for automatically generating an application overflow tool that is dynamically updated and arranged to provide improved access to popular or recently used applications. These systems and methods improve existing technologies by generating an overflow panel different from a task bar, such that the overflow panel provides access to most recently used applications that are not on the task bar. As such, ease of access to applications is improved to increase user efficiency. These systems also improve the way computers operate by leveraging existing GUI layouts to reduce computing resource consumption, such as memory, network latency, I/O, and the like, that would otherwise be required improve access to applications.

  • Publication number: 20240080594
Abstract: A speaker can have a main body with a generally spheroidal shape, which can be supported standing on its end. The speaker can include a subwoofer that faces forward. A plurality of mid-range drivers can be distributed around the sub-woofer, facing generally forward and radially outward. A plurality of tweeters can be distributed around the sub-woofer, facing generally forward and generally outward. The outer housing portion of the speaker can be covered with a fabric material. A user interface ring 162 can be touch sensitive to receive input, and can have a plurality of lights that can be illuminated separately to convey information to the user.

  • Publication number: 20220188893
Abstract: A first network signal is received indicating a device identifier in response to a transaction involving an electronic device uniquely associated with the device identifier. An entity identifier specific to an entity associated with the transaction is determined. In response to an initialization event of the electronic device, a second network signal from the electronic device is received that identifies the electronic device. In response to the second network signal, a configuration is communicated to the electronic device that is specific to the entity associated with the transaction.

  • Patent number: 11321754
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and systems are disclosed for detection of a network signal identifying an electronic device in response to a transaction initiated by an entity. For example, the network signal can be transmitted by the electronic device in response to an initial network connection. An entity identifier identifies the entity associated with initiating a transaction based on matching identifying information contained in the network signal with transaction information from a supply chain. A configurator to configure the electronic device specific to the identified entity can be based on a feature set determined by channels through which the electronic device came to an end user. The feature set programs the electronic device to interoperate with a network device in response to the initial network connection.

  • Patent number: 10271892
Abstract: An electrosurgical system for the treatment of tissue includes an electrosurgical instrument, a source for supplying ionizable gas to said electrosurgical instrument, an electrosurgical generator for supplying high frequency energy to the electrosurgical instrument, and a switch mechanism. The electrosurgical instrument includes one or more conduits and one or more electrodes connected to the electrosurgical generator. The electrosurgical system is movable between at least a first and a second arrangement. The first arrangement is such that one electrode produces a stream of ionized gas exiting one of the conduits, the ionizable gas being capable of the removal of tissue. The second arrangement is such that ionized gas is produced such that it is capable of the coagulation of tissue. The switch mechanism causes the electrosurgical instrument to move between the first and second arrangements.

  • Patent number: 6345491
Abstract: An apparatus for inserting twist into a moving strand, including a first body including an orifice extending therethrough for permitting passage of a moving yarn. An air channel extends therethrough and communicates with the orifice. The air channel communicates with the orifice at a tangentially-offset angle to the path of the yarn through the orifice to create a cyclonic air circulation pattern in the orifice to insert a predetermined direction of twist into the yarn as the yarn passes through the orifice. The first body is adapted for being inverted relative to, and placed in overlying registration with, a second like body whereby the air channel of the first body inserts one predetermined direction of twist into the yarn and the air channel of the second body inserts another predetermined direction of twist into the yarn.

  • Patent number: 6195975
Abstract: A process of producing an assembled yarn, including the steps of providing two or more yarns moving downstream from a supply to a take-up, inserting alternating-direction zones of twist into at least one of the yarns, the at least one yarn having an area of zero twist between said alternating direction zones of twist, combining the at least two yarns to form a single, integrated yarn strand, and intermittently exposing the yarn strand to an air blast to create a zone of intermingled yarns at spaced-apart points along the length of the yarn strand to prevent torsional movement of one yarn relative to the other yarn. According to one preferred embodiment of the invention, the step of exposing the yarn strand to an air blast includes the step of intermingling the yarns at the areas of zero twist.

  • Patent number: 5873614
Abstract: An anchor connectable to a carpet stretching apparatus includes a generally L-shaped member in which a first leg defines a base while a second leg forms an upright backstop. The base has a forward edge and an underside thereon. A plurality of inclined gripping pins engageable with the carpet is disposed on the underside of the base. The gripping pins are inclined from the forward edge toward the backstop. The L-shaped member is engageable with a carpet stretching apparatus so that a force generated by the carpet stretching apparatus while stretching a carpet reacts against the backstop at a point of application substantially rearwardly of the gripping pins in the direction of inclination thereof.

  • Patent number: 5644909
Abstract: An alternate twist plied yarn formed from a plurality of strands of singles yarn twisted in alternating directions in lengthwise intervals of first half-cycles of twist at a predetermined twist level followed by second half-cycles of twist at the same twist level with reversal nodes therebetween, the singles twisted yarns being ply-twisted together in alternating directions in lengthwise intervals of first half-cycles of ply-twist followed by second half-cycles of ply-twist, there being a bond formed adjacent each node wherein the first half-cycle of ply-twist is located within the bond and the second half-cycle of ply-twist originates at one end of the bond, the twist level in the singles twisted yarn is between 25% in the same direction and 60% in the opposite direction of the twist applied to the singles yarns before plying.
