  • Patent number: 5936028
Abstract: An improved process for the preparation of thermoplastic elastomers by hydrosilylation crosslinking, in which a platinum containing hydrosilylation catalyst is used in combination with oil which is substantially free of materials which have the chemical behavior of a Lewis base. A crosslinked rubber component is obtained in the thermoplastic elastomer composition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 1, 1996
Date of Patent: August 10, 1999
    Assignee: Advanced Elastomer Systems, L.P.
Inventors: Robert Eugene Medsker, Raman Patel, Jianqun Zhao, Gary Gilbertson
  • Patent number: 5750625
Abstract: The phenolic resin curatives used as a curative in thermoplastic elastomers are attributed with staining of painted surfaces which physically contact the thermoplastic elastomers. When the phenolic resin curatives are esterified (e.g., acetylated, tosylated, silylated or phosphorylated) before use as a curative, the amount of staining is reduced or staining is eliminated.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 9, 1997
Date of Patent: May 12, 1998
    Assignee: Advanced Elastomer Systems, L.P.
Inventors: Robert Eugene Medsker, Raman Patel, Sabet-Abdou Sabet
  • Patent number: 5672660
Abstract: An improved process for the preparation of thermoplastic elastomers by hydrosilylation crosslinking, in which a platinum containing hydrosilylation catalyst is used in combination with specific diene-containing rubbers. A fully crosslinked rubber component is obtained in the thermoplastic elastomer composition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 1, 1995
Date of Patent: September 30, 1997
    Assignee: Advanced Elastomer Systems, L.P.
Inventors: Robert Eugene Medsker, Raman Patel
