  • Patent number: 8950957
Abstract: In accordance with one example embodiment of a configurable printer for different paper sizes and types in accordance with the present invention, the configurable printer may comprise a print mechanism, a controller for controlling the print mechanism, a paper bucket for receiving a first sized paper roll to be printed, a divider for a paper bucket for reducing a width of the paper bucket to accept a second sized paper roll which is smaller than the first sized paper roll, and a bucket sensor adapted to sense at least one of insertion of the divider into the paper bucket and removal of the divider from the paper bucket and to provide a paper size signal to the controller. The controller controls the print mechanism in response to the paper size signal from the bucket sensor.

  • Patent number: 7014483
Abstract: An electrical device is disposed on a base for sliding movement between first and second ends of the base. The electrical device includes a first electrical connector configured to connect to a connector board disposed on the base. The connector board includes a second electrical connector configured to mate with the first electrical connector. The connector board can move between the first and second ends. A cable electrically couples the second connector to a signal. The cable is configured to maintain electrical connectivity between the signal and the second connector as the connector board slides between the first and second ends. The electrical device can removably connect to the connector board via the first and second connectors. The connector board can slide along with the electrical device to provide electrical connectivity of the signal to the electrical device as the electrical device slides between the first and second ends.

  • Patent number: 5060877
Abstract: An automatic paper feed apparatus includes a receptacle for a paper roll, which receptacle comprises a curved floor and opposite side walls which slope outwardly from bottom to top. The floor is ribbed on it sinner surface to minimize frictional engagement of a leader from the paper roll with said floor. Within the receptacle, the paper roll rests upon a guide roll and a first feed roll which is capable of rotating the paper roll to feed a paper web from the roll. A guide chute is provided which guides movement of the paper web from the paper roll to an exit portion of the guide chute from where it may be introduced into a printer or other device. The guide chute is comprised of a portion of the floor of the receptacle and a movable upper element. The movable upper element is pivotally mounted at one end on the shaft associated with the first feed roll.

  • Patent number: 4818132
Abstract: A protective member in the form of an opaque brush operates as a non-reflective shield to an optical sensor while protecting such sensor against ambient light. The brush also provides for removal of contamination from the surface of the optical sensor as a slip or like document is inserted along a guide by causing the brush to swing across such surface.
