Publication number: 20240001661Abstract: Composite panels and methods of preparation are described herein. In some embodiments, the composite panel can include a first fiber reinforcement, a polyurethane composite having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface, wherein the first surface is in contact with the first fiber reinforcement; and a cementitious material adjacent the first fiber reinforce-opposite the polyurethane composite. The polyurethane composite can be formed from (i) one or more isocyanates selected from the group consisting of diisocyanates, polyisocyanates, and mixtures thereof, (ii) one or more polyols, and (iii) a particulate filler. The fiber reinforcement can be formed from a woven or non-woven material, such as glass fibers. The composite panel can further include a material, such as a second fiber reinforcement and a cementitious layer, in contact with the second surface of the polyurethane composite. Articles comprising the composite panels are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2023Publication date: January 4, 2024Applicant: Westlake Royal Building Products Inc.Inventors: Russell HILL, Amitabha KUMAR, Hamed LAKROUT, Li AI, Russ MAJORS, Brian SHAW, Robert F. Publication number: 20230235553Abstract: Panel systems and related methods of controlling sound transmission are discussed. For example, the panel system may include a sound control component, which may include a foam composite of a polymer and an inorganic filler. The panel system may further include an attachment mechanism, e.g., including at least one fastener, at least one bracket, and/or at least one rail or rail system. The attachment mechanism may be configured to secure the sound control component between a first wall and a second wall, such that the panel system controls sound transmission between the first and second walls.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 9, 2021Publication date: July 27, 2023Applicant: WESTLAKE ROYAL BUILDING PRODUCTS INC.Inventors: Hamed LAKROUT, Russell L. HILL, Robert F. RATHBONE
