  • Publication number: 20250096927
Abstract: An apparatus and method for wireless communication is described in which post-Forward Error Correction (FEC) padding in a Physical Layer Convergence Procedure (PLCP) Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) is replaced with non post-FEC data. The data signals include repeating codebits or quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) symbols of the last codeword. In addition, the coding rate, modulation order, orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) symbol duration, and/or transmission bandwidth is able to be reduced, less power is allocated to padding subcarriers, a pre-FEC padding factor is increased, and/or control information piggybacked in the padding. The replacement may be limited to short PPDUs or those exceeding a threshold length. An increase in packet extension duration allows additional processing time.

  • Publication number: 20250070909
Abstract: For example, a STA may determine a pre-FEC padding factor value for a PPDU, the pre-FEC padding factor value in a range between 1 and 2Na, wherein Na is an integer greater than 2; set Na bits in a Signal (SIG) field of the PPDU to indicate the pre-FEC padding factor value; and encode a data field of the PPDU according to a FEC coding based on the pre-FEC padding factor value. For example, a STA may encode a data field of a PPDU according to a FEC coding based on a pre-FEC padding factor value and based on a condition that no post-FEC padding is to be applied for the PPDU; and set an LDPC extra symbol subfield in a SIG field of the PPDU to indicate whether or not an LDPC extra symbol is present based on encoding of the data field of the PPDU.

  • Publication number: 20250047725
Abstract: Follower devices are controlled in a companion mode designation by a leader device during a video conference. Based on a leader device and one or more follower devices within a physical space each connecting to a video conference, the one or more follower devices are designated in a companion mode in which the leader device maintains control over each of the one or more follower devices for the video conference. At each of the one or more follower devices, based on the companion mode designation for the follower device, first content of the video conference is output for display and second content to share to one or more remote conference devices connected to the video conference is captured. The leader device and the follower devices are collectively represented as a single logical entity to the video conference.

  • Publication number: 20250047808
Abstract: A follower device within a physical space is authenticated for leader device control during a video conference. The follower device is paired to a leader device within the physical space to enable a companion mode designation for the follower device during a video conference. Based on a connection of the leader device to the video conference, the follower device is caused to connect to the video conference according to the companion mode designation, and name information identifying a conference participant using the follower device is determined. A representation of the follower device within the video conference is updated to indicate the name information. The leader device and the follower devices are collectively represented as a single logical entity to the video conference.

  • Publication number: 20250047807
Abstract: Follower devices within a physical space are automatically activated and/or deactivated during a video conference. The follower devices are paired to a leader device within the physical space to enable a companion mode designation for the follower devices during a video conference. Based on a connection of the leader device to the video conference and based on the pairing between the leader device and a follower device of the follower devices, an event associated with the follower device is determined. Based on the event and the companion mode designation of the follower device, an action associated with the follower device is performed. The leader device and the follower devices are collectively represented as a single logical entity to the video conference.

  • Publication number: 20250047809
Abstract: The output of visual content at various follower devices within a physical space is selectively controlled during a video conference. Multiple displays located at a physical space are designated as follower devices, in which the follower device designation of the multiple displays enables a leader device located at the physical space to control the multiple displays for a video conference. A configuration is enforced to cause, during the video conference, an output of first visual data associated with the video conference at a first display of the multiple displays and an output of second visual data associated with the video conference at a second display of the multiple displays. The leader device and the follower devices are collectively represented as a single logical entity to the video conference.

  • Publication number: 20250047810
Abstract: The capture of video streams using follower devices is controlled by a leader device during a video conference. Multiple cameras located at a physical space and connected to the leader device within the physical space are identified. The multiple cameras are designated as follower devices for the video conference, in which the follower device designation enables the leader device to control the follower devices during the video conference. Each of the cameras is caused to determine and capture a select video stream depicting one or more conference participants within the physical space. At least some of the select video streams are used to represent the physical space within the video conference. The leader device and the follower devices are collectively represented as a single logical entity to the video conference.

  • Patent number: 12216884
Abstract: Certain exemplary embodiments relate to techniques for generating electronic menu (eMenu) graphical user interface layouts for use in connection with electronic devices (e.g., tablets, phablets, smart phones, etc.). A virtual grid-based layout including rows and columns that together constitute regularly sized and shaped grid cells is defined. Input identifying items to be included in the eMenu is received. Each item has associated length and width dimensions corresponding to a number of grid cells. At least some of the items are flagged for inclusion in the eMenu. Those items marked for inclusion are automatically and programmatically arranged in the eMenu in the grid cells of the grid-based layout in a manner that minimizes the number of unused grid cells. A tag-based representation of the layout corresponding to the formatted eMenu is stored. The file is made available to the electronic device in enabling the formatted eMenu to be displayed thereon.

  • Patent number: 12208635
Abstract: Systems and methods related to adaptive ribbon speed control for a line matrix impact printer are provided. A ribbon cartridge includes a ribbon configured to be driven at a ribbon speed, and a ribbon gear configured to rotate with movement of the ribbon. The ribbon includes a ribbon joint patch detectable via a first sensor to determine a first ribbon speed of the ribbon. Rotation of the ribbon gear is detectable via a second sensor to determine a second ribbon speed of the ribbon. A target ribbon speed is determined based on at least one print job characteristic. A current ribbon speed is determined based on the first ribbon speed and the second ribbon speed. The ribbon speed is adjusted based on a difference between the current ribbon speed and the target ribbon speed. Associated systems and methods are also provided.

  • Patent number: 4713329
Abstract: A method of forming CMOS transistors with self-aligned field regions. First and second spaced apart areas are provided on a silicon substrate. A masking member is formed protecting the first of said areas and exposing the second. The exposed area is doped with a p-type material which is driven in to form a p-well. The same region is again doped with additional p-type material after which the CMOS transistors are fabricated.
