Publication number: 20230301426Abstract: Improved methods and systems for operating moveable architectural elements (e.g., furniture) are described. The method includes performing a first part of a movement of the moveable architectural element along a portion of a length of actuation using a motor. The method includes performing a second part of the movement of the moveable architectural element with a desired movement profile and, based thereon, measuring an operation parameter. The method includes comparing the measured operation parameter to a profile of the operation parameter. The method includes incrementing a first counter if a first differential between the measured operation parameter and the profile of the operation parameter exceeds a differential threshold, incrementing a first counter. The method includes adjusting the second part of the movement of the moveable architectural element if the first counter exceeds a counter threshold. Many other improvements and features are contemplated and described.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 8, 2021Publication date: September 28, 2023Inventors: Carlos Rubio, Daniel E. Publication number: 20230189982Abstract: Embodiments of this application describe improved techniques for operating moveable furniture items. The techniques can include configuring a moveable furniture item such that it will not pivot of tip over during normal operating conditions. The techniques can also include certain passive safety features, such as selecting components that experience a fail condition if a certain threshold condition is reached. In some embodiments, the furniture item can be programmed to operate in various modes, desirable in certain circumstances. The techniques described herein can improve both the functionality and the safety of moveable furniture items.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2019Publication date: June 22, 2023Inventors: Carlos Rubio, Chad Bean, Ivan Fernandez De Casadevante, Hasier Larrea-Tamayo, Robert T. Publication number: 20230132162Abstract: A minimally invasive tissue incision system for creating joint capsulotomies and releasing/incising various tissues, tendons, and fibrous band structures is described. The system contains a penetrating needle which is retractable so as to expose a cutting element, and which may be used as a penetrating needle to pierce the skin and other soft tissue structures. The cutting element provided within the penetrating needle may be used to incise subsequent tissue structures after the initial penetration. The system facilitates such procedures by providing the cutting element with the confines of the needle which provides safe introduction of the cutting element directly to the site via the needle.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2022Publication date: April 27, 2023Inventors: Treg Brown, Steven S. Publication number: 20210228200Abstract: A tissue repair assembly for attachment of tissue to bone or tissue to tissue having a soft anchoring implant 100 with a length of suture 120 there through for tensioning the implant and facilitating attachment of other tissue. The implant 100 is a soft, flexible, three-dimensional structure that has a resident volume 200. An inserter tube 310 facilitates the placement of the implant 100 into bone or adjacent soft tissue where it may be deployed. Upon deployment, the soft anchoring implant 100 shortens axially and expands radially, achieving a larger diameter than the hole through which it was placed, thus resisting pull out.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 7, 2021Publication date: July 29, 2021Inventors: Treg Brown, Nathaniel Cohen, Robert Fernandez, Richard D'Elia, Christopher D'Elia, Annette Branger, Steve Golden, Marnette Atkinson, Stewart Kume

Publication number: 20200384339Abstract: A marker cone and ground anchor for use with sporting events, such as soccer, comprising engagement features that allow the marker cone to attach to the ground anchor for improved stability against wind and other disturbances. A stretchable cord extends from the conical portion of the marker cone and engages with a feature in the ground anchor, thereby allowing the marker cone to remain upright while the cord is engaged and under tension. The engagement features allow the marker cone to be removed and replaced without disturbing the ground anchor, and the compliance of the attachment method does not compromise properties of the marker cone that allow it to move or collapse for safety reasons during impact with a falling person.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 5, 2019Publication date: December 10, 2020Inventor: NICHOLAS ROBERT FERNANDEZ

Patent number: 10247110Abstract: A method and system for transitioning a gas turbine from burning gaseous fuel to liquid fuel and purging the liquid fuel therefrom after transfer back to the gaseous fuel are disclosed herein. The method includes pressurizing a volume of liquid fuel in an accumulator with a first volume of motive gas. A valve is opened in response to low gaseous fuel pressure in the gas turbine to permit the volume of liquid fuel to flow through a conduit to the gas turbine. A volume of flushing medium is pressurized in the accumulator with a second volume of motive gas. The valve is opened to permit at least a portion of the volume of flushing medium to flow through the conduit to flush any of the volume of liquid fuel remaining in the conduit after the gas turbine consumes the volume of liquid fuel.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2015Date of Patent: April 2, 2019Assignee: GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANYInventors: Alston I.
