  • Patent number: 10822122
Abstract: Methods and systems for vertically landing space vehicles are described herein. In one embodiment, a reusable space vehicle lands in a vertical, nose-up orientation by engaging a system of cables suspended from an elevated framework during a controlled descent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 27, 2017
Date of Patent: November 3, 2020

  • Publication number: 20070049379
Abstract: A flexible coupling device for transmitting power between at least two adjoining rotary members and allowing axial deflection and/or angular misalignment of at least one rotary member relative to another. The flexible coupling device provides optimization for both bending and torque stress. The flexible coupling device includes at least two annular members where the thinnest point of the flexure portion of at least one of the annular members is spaced radially-inward from the radially-outermost point. Additionally, the components of the device are unitary in structure and may be constructed using cost-efficient manufacturing processes.

  • Patent number: 5611594
Abstract: A portable folding chair that is provided with a pair of telescoping side mounting members each made up of an inner and outer telescoping tube that are prevented from having sliding movement relative to each other when the chair is in its erected state, in order to stabilize the chair when sat upon. The outer tube constitutes the upper tube so that any sand or dirt entering into the interior of the telescoping members will fall right out again. The front support legs are sloped forwardly to allow for the chair to be more fully collapsed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 13, 1995
Date of Patent: March 18, 1997
