Abstract: The present invention relates to a protective covering for grapevines to mitigate smoke taint by filtering particles that may affect the grapes. The protective covering: comprises a microporous activated carbon material that is capable of being arranged by a user to cover at least a portion of the grapevine; and an attachment means for securing the activated carbon material to, or about, at least the portion of the grapevine.

Abstract: A bag assembly for the separation of a composite liquid into at least two components, comprises a set of bags and a bag-assembling device for assembling the set of bags. The set of bags comprises a separation bag connected by a product tube to at least one product bag. The bag-assembling device comprises a support member; a mounting means, connected to the support member, for removably mounting the bag-assembling device in a rotor of a centrifuge having a central cavity for containing the product bag; and a first securing means connected to the support member for releasably securing the product bag to the support member. The mounting means and the first securing means are so arranged that the product bag occupies a determined position in the central cavity of a rotor when the bag-assembling device in mounted therein.

Abstract: A foaming cleansing preparation and system that produce a high quality, self-sustaining foam immediately upon exposure to water without physical agitation or rubbing is provided. The inventive cleansing preparation is made up of at least one dry acid, at least one dry base, and at least one liquid film-forming cleansing agent. When the cleansing preparation is exposed to water, the acid(s) and the base(s) will react to form a gas and the cleansing agent(s) will form a liquid film, and the gas and the liquid film will then interact to form or generate a foam. The inventive cleansing system is made up of a plurality of delivery particles, with each such delivery particle containing one or more components of the inventive cleansing preparation.

Abstract: A means for reducing the levels of carbohydrates, lipids, metals, salts and/or toxins in biological systems thereby preventing or reducing weight gain, while reducing, for example, the incidence of atherosclerosis, hypertension, and toxic reactions, is provided. More specifically, the subject invention provides non-toxic, substantially non-degradable, optionally collapsible and/or expandable particles to react or complex with, decompose, absorb and/or adsorb dissolved or suspended carbohydrates, lipids, metals, salts and/or toxins that are present in fluids found in a target biological system.
