  • Patent number: 12089731
Abstract: A coupling system between the frame and the leg assembly of a workstation is described. The coupling system can be configured to selectively attach and detach the leg assembly from the frame. The leg assembly can include an adjustment mechanism. The adjustment mechanism can be configured to adjust the length of the leg. The leg assembly can include a leg coupling feature and the frame can have a frame coupling feature. The leg coupling feature can be configured to engage with the frame coupling feature, for instance to attach the leg to the frame. The workstation can include a latch configured to engage with the leg assembly. Engagement of the latch with the leg assembly can secure a position of the leg with respect to the frame.

  • Publication number: 20070259554
Abstract: Embodiments of a stand are provided with continuous adjustability within a range of travel. In one embodiment, a stand includes a movement mechanism adapted to allow a tray to move along a range of travel relative to a stand base. The movement mechanism is in some embodiments further adapted to position the tray at an infinite number of locations along the range of travel.

  • Publication number: 20070001076
Abstract: A support arm includes an arm having a proximal arm pivot joint that provides a range of elevational rotation of the arm. The arm further includes a distal component mount. The support arm further includes a biasing device adapted to provide an increasing force with increasing displacement. A flexible element is coupled between the biasing device and the arm with a linkage therebetween. At least a portion of the flexible element forms a segment between the arm and the linkage. The segment is at an angle relative to the arm, and the angle varies during rotation of the arm. An arm end location of the segment is fixed in relation to the arm during rotation of the arm. A linkage end location of the segment changes in relation to the pivot joint during rotation of the arm.

  • Publication number: 20060226326
Abstract: A mounting system includes a first surface and a second surface. A device panel can include at least first and second engaging members. The first and second surfaces are sized and shaped to engage the first and second engaging members respectively, and the first and second engaging members move along the first and second surfaces. The first and second surfaces are sized and shaped so the reaction forces between the first and second engaging members and the mounting panel cooperate to counteract the moment created by the center of gravity of the device panel to continuously immobilize the device panel at the plurality of angles relative to the support surface.

  • Publication number: 20060185563
Abstract: The invention includes a display positioning assembly comprising a support, a display supported by the support, and a balance mechanism carried by the display and operatively connected to the support. The invention also includes an article for selectively exposing a display comprising a generally planar support surface having a first side and a second side opposite the first side. A balance mechanism operatively connected to a display may be positionable between a storage position proximate the first side of the generally planar support surface and an exposed position proximate the second side of the generally planar support surface. The invention also includes an assembly for arresting the free fall of an object. The assembly may comprise an outer slide in sliding or rolling engagement with an inner slide, and a brake comprising at least one pivot member may be coupled to the inner slide.

  • Publication number: 20060091274
Abstract: A display screen mounting device includes a device panel rotatably coupled to a mounting panel. A first portion of at least one elastic member is coupled to the mounting panel. A first pulley is rotatably coupled substantially adjacent to a second portion of the at least one elastic member, wherein the first pulley is moveable with the second portion of the at least one elastic member, and the flexible element is in rolling communication with the first pulley. In another example, a method for making a display screen tilt device includes rotatably coupling a device panel to a mounting panel. A first portion of an elastic member is coupled to the mounting panel and a second portion of the elastic member is coupled substantially adjacent to a first pulley. A flexible element, in rolling communication with the first pulley, is coupled between the mounting panel and the device panel.

  • Publication number: 20050279898
Abstract: A mounting system is provided. The mounting system is adapted for mounting a device such as a video display on a surface such as a wall for example. Mounting system configurations include a tray to help align a mating feature with a keyhole opening. Other configurations include a retaining device to hold a mating feature within the mounting system for added security. Other configurations include a locking device to prohibit unwanted motion of the retaining device and theft protection.

  • Publication number: 20050139734
Abstract: A system for providing support and position control of a monitor. In one embodiment, a method of supporting a monitor includes converting an ascending energy storage member force curve into a substantially constant supporting force against the monitor. In one aspect, a method of supporting a monitor includes providing an energy storage member and a cam which are cooperatively positioned so as to move relative to each other along the path of motion. As the energy storage member moves along the path relative to the cam, the cam displaces the energy storage member and thereby changes a force applied by the energy storage member on the cam, and wherein the cam converts the force applied by the energy storage member into a supporting force on the monitor.
