Abstract: Coumarin compounds of the formula: ##STR1## in which R represents an alkyl group containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms, either unsubstituted or substituted by a non-ionic and non-chromophoric group, one of the substituents R.sub.1 or R.sub.2 represents a triazole radical, and the other represents hydrogen or a halogen, or an alkyl group containing from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, the triazole radical being unsubstituted or substituted by one or two substituents consisting of an alkyl group containing from 1 to 3 carbon atoms or an aryl group; processes for their preparation and their use as fluorescent brightening agents for polyester fibres.

Abstract: Compound of the formula: ##STR1## in which the nucleus A is unsubstituted or substituted by one or two nitro, amino, alkyl, alkoxy, chlorine or bromine and the alkyl and alkoxy each contain up to two carbon atoms capable of being used as intermediate products for preparing dyestuffs, pharmaceutical products or phytopharmaceutical products.

Abstract: Compound of the formula: ##STR1## in which the nucleus A is unsubstituted or substituted by one or two nitro, amino, alkyl, alkoxy, chlorine or bromine and the alkyl and alkoxy each contain up to two carbon atoms and process for the preparation of such compounds which comprises diazotizing an aniline of the formula: ##STR2## in which the nucleus A is unsubstituted or substituted by one or two nitro, amino, alkyl, alkoxy, chlorine or bromine, the alkyl and alkoxy each containing up to two carbon atoms and cyclizing the diazo derivative obtained.

Abstract: Process for coloration of synthetic or artificial fibers with water-insoluble dyes stuffs of the formula: ##STR1## IN WHICH R represents hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxy, R.sub.1 represents hydrogen, chlorine, alkyl, alkoxy or acylamino or a diene grouping linked to the benzene nucleus to form a naphthalene nucleus, R.sub.2 represents hydrogen, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or cyanoethyl, n represents 2, B represents an aromatic radical, m is 0 or 1 and A represents a benzene or heterocyclic radical, the residues A and B being unsubstituted or substituted by substituents which do not give rise to an acid dissociation.

Abstract: The disazo compounds of the formula: ##SPC1##In which X is fixed in position 3 or 4 and represents ##EQU1## Y represents hydrogen, chlorine, methoxy or nitro and E represents the residue N-ethyl-N-(m or p-sulphobenzyl)-4-amino-phenyl or 4-phenyl-amino-5-sulpho-naphthyl(1).Process for the preparation of the disazo compounds claimed in claim 1 wherein .alpha.-naphthylamine is coupled with the diazo derivative of an amine of the formula: ##SPC2##In which X and Y have the same significance as in claim 1, the monoazo dyestuff thus obtained of the formula: ##SPC3##Is diazotised and the diazo-monoazo derivative is coupled with N-ethyl-N-(m- or p-sulphobenzyl)aniline or 1-phenyl-amino-naphthalene-8-sulphonic acid.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of an optical brightening agent falling within the formula: ##SPC1##In which R represents an alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a phenyl group either unsubstituted or substituted by at least one alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each represent an alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms and A.sup.- represents a monovalent anion which comprises reacting a compound of the formula: ##SPC2##In which R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, and A.sup.- have the meanings given above, with an alcoholate of the formula RO-Me in which R represents an alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms and Me is an alkali metal; compounds falling within the formula: ##SPC3##Wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and A.sup.- have the meanings given above.
