Abstract: A fuel cell system and a method of producing electricity in a fuel cell are described. The fuel cell system includes a reformer for converting an unreformed fuel to produce a reformate fuel gas; and a fuel cell stack adapted to generate electricity using the reformate fuel gas. The unreformed fuel is a solid paraffinic hydrocarbon. Some hydrocarbons include at least about 5 wt. percent olefins; at least about 5 wt. percent n-paraffins; and between about 2 and 50 wt. percent branched paraffins wherein substantially all of the branch groups are monomethyl and wherein the ratio of terminal monomethyl branching to internal monomethyl branching is at least about 1:1.5.

Abstract: A process utilizing a low severity hydrocracker prior to a high severity hydrocracker for the processing of petroleum based and synthetic hydrocarbon feedstocks into distillate fuels and high quality lubricant base oils. The process minimizes the size and conditions required by the high severity hydrocracker by closely matching such configuration with the desired product slate.

Abstract: A transportation fuel or blending stock for a transportation fuel which contains substantially no FT oxygenates and no sulfur is provided. An economical method of producing a transportation fuel or blending stock which eliminates oxygenates and which does not cause any significant yield loss is also provided.

Abstract: A drilling fluid including at least about 2 wt % olefin, at least about 5 wt % n-paraffins, and at least about 2 wt % isoparaffins, wherein the isoparaffins are substantially wholly terminal monomethyl branched is provided. A method for producing the drilling fluid, and a method for drilling a borehole using the drilling fluid are disclosed.
