Abstract: A method of controlling a power converter is used to interface to a power grid or supply network operating at a frequency (Fnet) that is nominally fixed (say at 50 Hz, for example) but which can be varied as a way of controlling power imbalanced within the network as a whole. The power converter can include a network bridge that operates in accordance with the pulse width modulation (PWM) strategy having a switching frequency (Fpwm), a nominal switching frequency (Fpwm_nom) and a number of pulses per period (Pulse_Number).

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to manifolds adapted to receive a fluid stream from one location and distribute it to a plurality of different locations. More specifically, one embodiment of the present invention includes an in-line, generally cylindrical, manifold adapted to receive high volumes of fluid and distribute it to a plurality of discharge nozzles. It is envisioned that these smaller volume discharge nozzles would be interconnected to hoses, wherein the fluid is transported to various locations for a preferred use. For example, in one embodiment of the present invention, the manifold would be used to transport treated water to various decontamination units to treat victims of chemical, biological, or nuclear attacks.

Abstract: The present invention is adapted to immobilize a vehicle by utilizing a pair of selectively interconnected chocks that are placed fore and aft of a tire. Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a device and method to secure spherical rod ends that are used to support a portable structure, such as a tent. These improved interconnection means, which are generally hinges, are adapted to allow limited movement of the rods by way of a ball and socket type connection, thereby facilitating installation of the portable structure.
