  • Patent number: 4895491
Abstract: A fan blade protection system (100) is provided for substantially preventing erosion by particulate impingement on the fan blade. Fan blade protection system (100) includes an outer erosion resistant layer (110) laminately bonded to an elastomeric energy dissipative layer (120). The laminate structure of fan blade protection system (100) is bonded to a portion (12) of fan blade (10). The outer erosion resistant layer (110) is formed of a material having a high yield strength such that it elastically deforms on impact by high velocity particulates. The energy transferred to the outer erosion resistant layer (110) is absorbed and distributed by the elastomeric energy dissipative layer (120), minimizing the force transmitted to the surface of the fan blade.

  • Patent number: 4123027
Abstract: An adjustable tensioning and retaining device particularly well suited for supporting a filter bag in a gas filtering baghouse includes an elongated linking member interconnected to one end of the filter bag, a wedge shaped body member having a sloping top surface with a plurality of spaced apart indentations formed in this sloping top surface, and coupling means for removably connecting the linking member into any of the indentations in the body member. In addition, the wedge shaped body member is mounted to a supporting structure in the filtering baghouse for linear movement such that the plane of the sloping top surface of the body member is inclined to the direction of linear movement.

  • Patent number: 4103708
Abstract: A ventilated poppet damper assembly for use in a gas conveying conduit to selectively allow and prevent the flow of gas through the conduit has a movable pair of spaced apart damper plates which define a transverse chamber when in the closed position. The transverse chamber is vented to insure that there is no leakage of conveyed gas past the closed damper plates.

  • Patent number: 3984217
Abstract: A wet gas cleaning system and process for removing particulates from a dirty process air stream including means for introducing the dirty process gas into a drying chamber and simultaneously therewith spraying or otherwise re-introducing the removed particulates or solids in finely divided form as a slurry into the chamber, collecting agglomerated particulates resulting from drying of the mixture or process gas and slurry in a separator while passing the resulting gas stream containing the remaining fine particulates into a high energy wet scrubber and simultaneously therewith introducing a recycled scrubber solution thereto and removing the remaining fine particulates from the scrubber in the form of a slurry.
