Publication number: 20030167724Abstract: A spanning or beam member for use in construction having a pair of opposing C-shaped flanges and a corrugated web. Laterally extended protrusions of the web strengthens the beam member by stiffening the web and increasing the load bearing forces that may be carried by the beam member without crushing. The C-shape of the flanges allows welding of the flanges to the protrusions of the web to reduce the unbraced and unstiffened size of the compression elements to allow for construction of beam members of a given strength out of thinner sheet material. An end plate secures to the opposing flanges and to the corrugated web interposed therebetween, providing a superior means for interconnecting the beam members.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 1999Publication date: September 11, 2003Inventor: ROBERT G. MCCRACKEN

Patent number: 6447201Abstract: A load relief coupling device which interconnects a lower, supporting member and an upper, supported member of a concrete forming apparatus to permit quick and easy relief of the load on the members by a formed concrete structure. The load relief coupler includes a supporting coupler member, a supported coupler member, and an inner coupler member positioned between the supporting and supported coupler member. Coacting teeth on the inner coupler member and on the supporting and supported coupler members cause the coupler to move between a loaded, expanded position and an unloaded, collapsed position upon relative pivotal movement between the inner coupler member and the two supporting and supported coupler members.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2000Date of Patent: September 10, 2002Assignee: Wilian Holding CompanyInventor: Robert G. Publication number: 20020109070Abstract: A shoring post for a support apparatus includes an extruded hollow tubular body member having a longitudinal axis and a first, longitudinally extended projection integrally formed with the body member and projecting generally radially outwardly therefrom. The projection includes a profile having a clamping engagement channel running longitudinally on a first side thereof. A second longitudinally extended projection is integrally formed with the body member and projects generally radially outwardly therefrom and is spaced from a second side of the first projection. It also has a profile that is symmetrically reversed from the profile of the first projection about a plane of symmetry that is defined by the longitudinal axis of the body member and a midline between said projections thereby also forming a clamping engagement channel running longitudinally along a first side.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 3, 2002Publication date: August 15, 2002Applicant: Wilian Holding CompanyInventor: Robert G. Patent number: 5426906Abstract: A light-weight, high-strength beam member for use in concrete form assemblies. A sheet material is roll-formed into a hollow beam having a trapezoidal transverse cross section. In assembly, a plurality of beam members are attached to a supporting metal concrete forming structure in a parallel, spaced-apart relation. Sheeting or decking is attached to the plurality of beam members by hand driven nails which penetrate a top section the beam members.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 1994Date of Patent: June 27, 1995Assignee: Wilian Holding CompanyInventor: Robert G. Patent number: 5137250Abstract: A tie rod bearing unit for use in connecting together a pair of oppositely facing wall form structures of a concrete form assembly including upright structural beams with spaced-apart, back-to-back channel members, each of which has a pair of transversely opposite leg sections and an interconnecting web section. The tie bearing unit includes a bearing plate from a first side of which projects an open box member. In position against a beam, the box member of the tie bearing unit is in a friction fit with the web sections within the space between the channel members and the first side of the bearing plate is in contact engagement with the leg sections of the beam. A tie rod of the form assembly bears against the opposite or second side of the bearing plate. The tie rod bearing unit strengthens the beam and distributes the forces exerted by the tie rod.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1990Date of Patent: August 11, 1992Assignee: Economy Forms CorporationInventor: Robert G. Patent number: 4964256Abstract: A light-weight, high-strength beam member for use in concrete form assemblies. An end plate is secured by weldment to each end of a pair of channel members arranged in a back-to-back, spaced apart relation. The channel members includes a pair of transversely opposite leg sections with inturned terminal edges and an interconnecting web section. The terminal end portion of the web section is foreshortened by one-half the thickness of an end plate. In assembly, an end plate rests against the terminal edge of the web sections and is partially recessed in the leg sections and inturned edges of the channel members. Upon welding of the end plates to the channel members a high-strength end connection is created which permits full strength beam assemblies to be constructed by interconnecting end-to-end a plurality of individual beam members.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1990Date of Patent: October 23, 1990Assignee: Economy Forms CorporationInventor: Robert G. Patent number: 4569501Abstract: The cambered truss header is embodied in a shoring apparatus for pouring substantially horizontal concrete building sections. The truss header extends between and is supported on end runners which may be carried on floor-supported legs or on hangers mounted on upright building sections. A truss header may consist of a truss span having a top chord member, a bottom chord member, and a plurality of like brace members interconnecting the chord members. The brace members form an open web pattern wherein adjacent brace members are reversely inclined with the plurality of apices being connected to the top chord members a spaced apart distance greater than the spaced apart distance between the apices of the bottom chord member. The truss header is thus provided with a camber which tends to assume a horizontal position in response to a load placed on the truss header by the horizontal concrete building section.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1984Date of Patent: February 11, 1986Assignee: Economy Forms CorporationInventor: Robert G.
