  • Patent number: 7008698
Abstract: A shrinkable polymer film including a modified polyester resin polymerized from monomers including a dicarboxylic acid and a glycol, wherein the glycol includes 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, and wherein the polymer film shrinks at least about 50% in a main shrinkage direction after ten seconds in an 80 degree Celsius hot water bath.

  • Patent number: 6020412
Abstract: A reclaimable release coating composition is provided which includes a blend of an adhesion promoter and a silicone release agent which may be applied from an aqueous solution, dispersion or emulsion. The components form regions of adhesion promoting sites disrupted by regions of release sites on the surface of a release backing substrate coated with the composition. The different regions are substantially homogeneously distributed across the entirety of the release surface. When used as a release coating for a backing to protect an adhesive, a controlled release force of a predictable value may be obtained by providing a known weight ratio of adhesion promoter to silicone release agent in the coating composition.

Inventors: Kenneth J. Muschelewicz, Robert G. Posey
  • Patent number: 5672428
Abstract: A silicone release polyester film coated with an aqueous silicone coating composition on one surface. The aqueous silicone release coating composition is made up of an alkylvinylpolysiloxane containing vinyl groups, a tin or platinum catalyst, a glycidoxysilane and an alkylhydrogenpolysiloxane. A process for coating a polyester film with the aqueous silicone coating composition is also disclosed, where the coating occurs in-line, disclosing the manufacturing process for the film before it is heat-set. The silicone release coated polyester film has an acceptable release value when subjected to solvents or heat.

  • Patent number: 5077925
Abstract: A frame is disclosed herein having an elongated base with opposite side rails defining an exposed message area therebetween occupied by a resilient pad. A message sheet is placed between the pad and a transparent window or layer which is slidably carried on the side rails to cover and protect the message sheet. Stop abutments are provided to limit sliding of the window and a snap-lock mechanism is employed for releasably retaining the window in place over the message sheet.

  • Patent number: 4745019
Abstract: A primer coated, oriented polyester film material is provided wherein the primer is applied in an aqueous medium comprising a water dispersible copolyester consisting essentially of the condensation product of components A, B, C, and D or their polyester forming equivalents as follows:(A) about 60 to 75 mole percent of terephthalic acid;(B) about 15 to 25 mole percent of at least one dicarboxylic acid of the formula HOOC(CH.sub.2).sub.n COOH, wherein n ranges from about 1-11;(C) greater than from about 6 up to about 15 mole percent of at least one sulfomonomer containing an alkali metal sulfonate group attached to a dicarboxylic aromatic nucleus, and(D) Stoichiometric quantities, i.e., about 100 mole percent of at least one aliphatic or cycloaliphatic alkylene glycol copolymerizable therewith having about from 2 to 11 carbon atoms. The copolyester priming layer may be applied to the polyester film at any suitable stage during manufacture of the film, i.e., before or during the stretching operations.
